J006, at the Southern N.I I.<br />

_Medical Center in Nashua, fol-<br />

lowing a brief illness. She was<br />

foe wife of William E. Moore,<br />

t ST., who died in 1997.<br />

„She was born in Alexandria,<br />

'Louisiana, on September 11,<br />

Registered Nursing degrees in<br />

New Orleans. Following her<br />

marriage she moved to<br />

Tewksbury, where she lived<br />

until her retirement 18 years<br />

ago. Upon retirement, she<br />

moved to Bonifay, Fl, but<br />

returned to the home of her son<br />

and daughter-in-law in<br />

Litchfield, NH, earlier this<br />

year, because of failing health.<br />

She worked as a Registered<br />

Nurse in the Maternity<br />

Department at Lowell General<br />

Hospital until her retirement.<br />

Since retirement, she had<br />

been active in the Bonifay<br />

Methodist Church, where she<br />

was a member of the Church<br />

Choir, and Ladies Aid Guild. As<br />

a resident of Tewksbury, she<br />

was active at the Tewksbury<br />

United Methodist Church.<br />

Throughout her life, she was<br />

an accomplished seamstress,<br />

and also enjoyed crossword<br />

puzzles.<br />

She is survived by one son and<br />

daughter-in-law, Gerald Moore<br />

and his wife Eleanor (Gifford)<br />

Moore of Litchfield, a son-in-<br />

law, Frank Newcomb of Fla.; a<br />

sister. Beverly Collins of Fla ;<br />

five grandchildren, Frank<br />

Newcomb Jr., of Fla., C.P.O.<br />

Brian Newcomb, U.S. Navy,<br />

currently assigned to the<br />

Joyner of Fla., Rhonda Moore<br />

of Milford, NH; and nine great<br />

grandchildren.<br />

She was also mother of the<br />

late Patricia Newcomb, and<br />

twin sister of the late Overton<br />

"Sonny" Richard.<br />

Relatives and friends were<br />

received Monday, June 26, from<br />

4 to 7 p.m. in the Tewksbury<br />

Funeral Home, corner of<br />

Dewey and Main Sts. (Rte :58><br />

funeral service was held<br />

Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in<br />

the funeral home. Following<br />

cremation, interment will be<br />

The 4th Grade class at Tewksbury's Dewing School held its year end celebration on Friday,<br />

June 16th. The event was centered around a Hollywood theme with many of the decora-<br />

tions/props made by parents. Mrs. Ronan, the principal, and Dr. McGrath and Ms. Bradley<br />

also attended. Dr. McGrath even sang "I Will Survive" with a group of kids < as pictured<br />

above I and participated in Fear Factor!<br />

Students and parents from Mrs Creeden's 2nd grade classroom gathered on Monday to sur-<br />

prise her with a special celebration in her honor. Mrs. Creeden dedicated 35 years to the<br />

<strong>Wilmington</strong> Public Schools, all of which were at the Shawsheen School. The classroom pre-<br />

sented Mrs. Creeden with a handmade platter that students painted with their thumbprints<br />

along with some added details from one of the classroom parents. Students celebrated outside<br />

with popsicles, munchkins and specially wrapped chocolate bars with their class picture on<br />

Thayer, age 71, a well known<br />

and respected member of the<br />

Tewksbury community, died<br />

Monday afternoon, June 26,<br />

2006, at his<br />

Tewksbury' home,<br />

^ after a brief and<br />

—"^^~ — " courageous bat-<br />

tle with cancer. He was the<br />

husband of Rose M. (Dundon)<br />

Thayer, with whom he had cele-<br />

brated a 47th wedding anniver-<br />

sary' this past April 4th.<br />

He was born in Providence,<br />

R.I., a son of the late Walter R.<br />

Thayer Jr, and Fsther (Hulme)<br />

Thayer, and was raised in<br />

Riverside, RI. Upon gradua-<br />

tion from high school, he joined<br />

the U.S. Army and served in the<br />

European Occupation Forces<br />

during the Korean War. Mr.<br />

Thayer went on to earn a BSBA<br />

from the University of Rhode<br />

Island in 1961.<br />

He lived in Riverside, R.I..<br />

Enfield CT, and New York.<br />

before moving to Tewksbury 30<br />

years ago. In his early years.<br />

Mr. Thayer summered in<br />

Dollycoppe, in the White<br />

Mountains of NH, and in later<br />

years, summered at the family<br />

cottage in Block Island.<br />

He spent his early career as a<br />

sales representative and prop<br />

erly manager for Atlantic<br />

Richfield, or ARCO, gasoline<br />

service stations. He later<br />

became an owner operator at<br />

Tewksbury Citgo, and also<br />

Peabody Gulf. Since his retire-<br />

ment from gasoline services<br />

stations, he worked for the<br />

Town (it Tewksbury as a custo-<br />

dian at the Town Hall and Town<br />

Hall Annex, and most recently<br />

as a sporting goods associate at<br />

Matthew Breen. Mrs<br />
