petition at Worcester Polytechnic Iastitute on Friday and Saturday, June Z\ and 24, 2006. Ares had<br />
-a' missing bolt problem Saturday, June 10th, at the "Mayhem in Merrimack" competition at<br />
Merrimack, NH, High School and bowed out during the quarterfinals. However, Ares was voted<br />
: the "cutest robot" by the judges and given the Herbie Award for his efforts. Ares was not amused<br />

Maura Kee graduated from<br />
Laivrence Academy during the<br />
school's 213th commencement<br />
exercises in Groton,<br />
Massachusetts. In her final<br />
year, she enjoyed the most suc-<br />
cess academically in English,<br />
Ixitin, and arts electives in<br />
choreography and painting..<br />
Maura excelled as a cross-<br />
country runner, breaking the<br />
record for a Lawrence Academy-<br />
runner on the home course<br />
twice during her senior year.<br />
Coming to the school as a<br />
junior in 2004, Maura was<br />
named an All-New England<br />
cross-country runner both that<br />
year and the next, also earning<br />
recognition from the<br />
Independent School League<br />
(1$L), which named her for<br />
both seasons to the All-League<br />
team. She earned the team's<br />
MVP honors for both years and<br />
served as a captain during the<br />
J20G5 fall season.<br />
Also an avid ice hockey play-<br />
er, Maura played on that varsi-<br />
ty team for both winter sea-<br />
sons. She and her ice hockey<br />
teammates completed the 2004-<br />
2005 season with a record of 12-<br />
0-1 against ISL teams. She also<br />
played lacrosse at the junior<br />
varsity level and, in her final<br />
season, earned a Spirit of<br />
Sports award while serving as a<br />
team captain<br />
Like many student-athletes at<br />
Lawrence Academy, Maura<br />
took instruction in dance and<br />
performed in the end-of-term<br />
concert. "A thoughtful and con-<br />
siderate person", notes advisor<br />
Bill Mees, Maura served her<br />
fellow students as a peer coun-<br />
selor and was a member of the<br />
school's chapter of SADI).<br />
Maura also assisted her class-<br />
mates with the production ol<br />
their class yearbook. During<br />
one of her two-week experien-<br />
tial learning sessions that take<br />
place every March, Maura<br />
practiced the martial arts, also<br />
learning meditation techniques<br />
and related history. In this<br />
year's session, she canoed<br />
down the Rio Grande while<br />
learning low-impact camping<br />
and studying the surrounding<br />
environment.<br />

Gene Kee ol Tewksbury, Mama<br />
will attend Norwich University.<br />
where she plans to continue<br />
with both cross-country run-<br />
ning and ice hockey.<br />
