Fun-filled,
exciting, and
busy in Lynnfield
In May, fourth grade stu-
dents continued their prepa-
ration for the MCAS test in
Mathematics, held on
Wednesday May 24th and
Thursday May 25th, notes
'Huckleberry Highlights'
from Lynnfield's
Huckleberry Hill School.
"Again, it is important
that students are well rested
and thrt they eat a good
breakfast each day. They are
.veil prepared and we know
they will do well.
"In math we are studying
..tea. perimeter, and volume.
We will be creating many
shapes and objects when
given specific measurements
for area and perimeter, as
well as measuring the length
and width of sides and figur-
ing the perimeter and area
for a given ligure.
"We will continue our
study of the Solar System;
specifically, the moon's phas-
es. Earth's movements, and
a briel study of our nearest
neighbors in space 1 the plan-
ets 1 in our solar system. We
will continue our study of our
country's origins. the
regions, and the people of
our great nation. We will
then move on to studying our
nearest neighbors to the
North and the South, Canada
and Mexico. This is new
ALWAYS IN SEASON
material for us this year and
the fourth grade teachers are
looking forward to the new
curriculum.
"There are many exciting
events hapjK'ning in May as
well. We will pose for the
Moving-On photo on May 2nd
which is always fun and cre-
ative and includes all fourth
grade students, teachers, and
Mrs. Mead! We will have a
presentation by Discovery
Museum on light and lasers
to support our study of light
and color. May is a fun filled,
exciting month in fourth
grade and we will continue to
be busy!"

unanimously approved the
use of the extra money
acquired at Town Meeting to
fund two teaching positions
at the high school," notes the

Committee requested a fiscal
2007 budget of $28,575,071.

and significantly increased
