Queensl<strong>and</strong> Industrial Minerals Ltd Initial Advice Statement<br />

<strong>Environment</strong>al planning aspects for consideration which can be implemented<br />

following exhaustion <strong>of</strong> resources at Wateranga will include forestry applications,<br />

intensive agricultural uses such as vineyards, orchards <strong>and</strong> intensive grazing <strong>and</strong><br />

permanent dam development, <strong>and</strong> terraced l<strong>and</strong>forms.<br />

In particular, l<strong>and</strong>holders such BWPL will reap downstream financial benefits from<br />

these sustainable development concepts through the sale <strong>of</strong> water from the Burnett<br />

Dam.<br />

6.3. Other<br />

The Wateranga Project will be the subject <strong>of</strong> an <strong>Environment</strong>al Management System<br />

(EMS) to ISO 14001 st<strong>and</strong>ards. Part <strong>of</strong> this system <strong>and</strong> company approach will be<br />

the training <strong>of</strong> all onsite personal,<br />

The plant site will be a closed system. The immediate plant site will be contoured to<br />

promote the reporting <strong>of</strong> water to an environmental dam adjacent to the operations.<br />

Clean water will be diverted around the plant site. Accordingly, throughout the site<br />

there will be a number <strong>of</strong> spill kits, for potential hydro-carbon spills.<br />

An example training programme is included in Appendix 5.<br />
