<strong>Capital</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> and The Kitchen at Billings Forge, Hartford’s premier farm-to-table catering business and café, have partnered<br />
to provide culinary education which combines classroom instruction with on-site experiential learning. This certificate will enable you to<br />
enter the field of professional culinary arts. Classroom sessions are conducted at <strong>Capital</strong> followed by practical lab sessions in a commercial<br />
kitchen facility at Billings Forge. Kitchen labs will emphasize hands-on practical learning including knife skills, cooking methods, product<br />
identification, and proper food handling.<br />

The final exam for this course is the ServSafe Food Handler’s exam, a widely recognized industry standard for food safety and a required<br />

Additional lab held on Saturdays May 4, 11 & 18 at Billings Forge from 12 - 6 PM.<br />
