The Museum's Endowment Fund was established in 1884 for the purpose of providing a steady income to support the Museum's programs of exhibition, scientific research, and exploration. It is by and through the growth of this endowment that the high standards of our exhibits, the completeness of our collections, and the quality of our educational programs have been maintained. It is hoped that as time goes on the Museum will continue to find friends willing to make additions to our endowment and by so doing insure our future as they have protected the past. One way of adding to our endowment is by the use of the simple form of bequest as outlined below. I do hereby give and bequeath to The American Museum of Natural History of the City of New York Bequests as well as all other forms of donations are exempt from Federal gift and estate taxes.
