SAFETY ONBOARD RESPONSIBLE FLYING WITH JET2.COM Safety & Comfort Most of the following guidelines are mandatory under Civil Aviation Authority Regulations to make sure your flight is safe, comfortable and enjoyable SAFETY ONBOARD Knowing what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency could make all the difference to you and your family. The safety information card in your seat pocket and the cabin crew’s safety briefing gives you vital information on the location of exits and emergency equipment. As this can vary from one airline to another it is important to pay attention to the safety briefing and read the safety card each time you fly. Our crew are specially trained to ensure your safety and security at all times. It is an offence to refuse to obey any lawful command of the captain or cabin crew. Our primary concern is YOUR safety at all times. MOBILE PHONES To prevent interference to the aircraft communication and control systems the use of mobile phones or any other wireless communication devices is restricted onboard. Mobiles must not be used for internet access, text messaging or voice calls while onboard the aircraft. If your device is fitted with a “flight mode” or something similar you should switch it to this before the aircraft doors are closed to prevent any accidental transmission or reception. SEATBELTS Seatbelts protect you from injury and you are recommended to keep your belt fastened throughout the flight, and must do so whenever the seatbelt sign is switched on (during taxi, take-off, landing and turbulence). Adjust the seatbelt so that it is tight but comfortable with the buckle the right way around so that it can be easily released. Infants travelling on a passenger’s lap will require an infant seatbelt, which our cabin crew will happily fit for you. SMOKING Smoking is NOT PERMITTED on any of our flights, and for the safety of all our passengers the toilet compartments are fitted with highly sensitive smoke detectors. Violation of this law may lead to prosecution and a substantial fine. ALCOHOL Please bear in mind the fact that high altitude increases the physical effects of alcohol, so moderate consumption is recommended. It is illegal to be intoxicated onboard an aircraft. 86JetAway The consumption of any alcoholic beverage onboard other than those that have been supplied from the in-flight bar is not permitted and the crew are authorised to remove alcohol from passengers drinking from their own supplies. PASSENGER BEHAVIOUR Jet2.com expects our passengers to behave in a responsible manner and we will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour. This includes foul language and any other behaviour that reduces other passengers’ enjoyment of the flight and causes them, or our staff, any degree of distress, discomfort or unnecessary inconvenience. We reserve the right to ban passengers from future flights if their behaviour is a threat to the safety of our passengers or crew. HAND LUGGAGE One small piece of hand luggage is allowed per person, providing its weight is less than 10kg and it is no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm including wheels and handles. Any piece of baggage that does not meet these requirements will be placed in the hold and the relevant fee will be charged. Any other excess hand luggage will be placed in the hold. Light or soft articles should be stowed in the overhead luggage compartments, heavier items under seats. Items lying loose on empty seats or obstructing the aisles or emergency exits are dangerous and you will be asked to remove them. ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT Once the aircraft is at cruising altitude and the captain has turned off the “Fasten Seat Belt” sign, you are free to use laptops, CD players, MP3 players, computer games and most other electronic items. The use of electronic equipment of any kind is not permitted during taxi, take-off and landing. COMFORT Changes in the cabin air pressure may cause some slight discomfort in your ears. You can relieve this by swallowing hard, yawning or holding your nose while gently breathing out with your mouth closed. Flying also causes your body to dehydrate so you are advised to have something to drink that is not alcoholic. For your further comfort, please try to stretch your legs and arms as much as possible throughout the flight. IN-FLIGHT SERVICE On your flight we will be offering you a comprehensive choice of hot and cold drinks as well as a selection of delicious snacks, including sandwiches and confectionery. Full details of our onboard products can be found at the back of this magazine. We kindly ask all passengers to help keep the aircraft tidy by not placing rubbish in the seat pockets or on the floor. Our cabin crew will be collecting rubbish throughout the flight, so please help them to keep the aircraft tidy.
