The 16 ancient columns in front of the
Basilica of San Lorenzo, Columns of
San Lorenzo, are the city’s unofficial
meeting point, halfway between the
centre and Navigli district, in an
area full of bars. Converted dairy

Parco Sempione, Milan’s largest park,
serves cocktails till late with DJ, €8.
And finally…
Venture west to see Leonardo’s
Horse, a bronze statue replica of a
design by Leonardo da Vinci that was
never made. It’s at Piazzale dello
Sport, near San Siro (take the metro
to Lotto and walk down Via Caprilli).

With botanical gardens, a zoological
and dinosaur museum plus geological
exhibition, the National History
Museum (Sars’ gate/Monrads gate,

is ideal for an informative day out. A
popular hangout for a late and lively
crowd, Stratos (Youngstorget 2A,

is both a club and a restaurant and
offers fantastic views of the city.

Frognerbadet swimming complex is
a popular outdoor summer attraction.
