SORSOGON CHAPTER CONDUCTS<br />
FREE COMPUTER SEMINARS<br />
FOR ITS IIEE OFFICERS AND MEMBERS<br />

With its commitment to enhance the technical skills<br />
and talents <strong>of</strong> its members, the IIEE Sorsogon Chapter<br />
successfully conducted a four-day “free computer<br />
seminar” last September 04-05 and 11-12, 2009 at<br />
Sorsogon Electric Company 2 (SORECO 2) Mess Hall in<br />
Brgy. Buhatan, Sorsogon City.<br />
<strong>The</strong> seminar was composed <strong>of</strong> four modules: 1. (MODULE<br />
1) Familiarization and Basic Computer; 2. (MODULE 2)<br />
Computer Hardware Set-up; 3. (MODULE 3) Computer<br />
S<strong>of</strong>twares (Bios, OS and Applications) Set-up, and;<br />
4. (MODULE 4) Basic Computer Troubleshooting &<br />
Preventive Maintenance.<br />
This activity was made possible by the IIEE Sorsogon<br />
Chapter Officers, headed by Engr. Dominic S. Dela<br />
Rosa (Chapter President) & Engr. Rannie L. Forcadela<br />
(Chapter VP-Internal Affairs), who also served as the<br />
Lecturers and Instructors <strong>of</strong> this seminar. Ms. Clemen G.<br />
Licup (Chapter Secretary) and Engr. Leah E. Funtanares<br />
(Chapter Treasurer) coordinated and managed the<br />
seminar venue, including the multi-media equipment<br />
and sound system needed in this activity.<br />
<strong>The</strong> IIEE Sorsogon Chapter also would like to thank Atty.<br />
Percival G. Alvarez, OIC-General Manager <strong>of</strong> SORECO 2,<br />
for lending/providing their facilities for free including the<br />
multimedia equipment and sound system. Also, we thank<br />

BOD), provided free lunches, snacks and transportation.<br />
This seminar aims to provide the IIEE Sorsogon Chapter<br />
members additional technical know-how in computers,<br />
not only on the aspect <strong>of</strong> its operation, but also in carrying<br />
out appropriate preventive and corrective maintenance<br />
<strong>of</strong> its s<strong>of</strong>twares & hardware.<br />
THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER MAGAZINE invites all the Regional Governors, Chapter<br />
Officers, Students and Members to submit their contributions for publication. We<br />
will highlight significant programs in pursuit <strong>of</strong> the interest <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Institute</strong> and its<br />
community.<br />

e-mail: technical@iiee.org.ph at least 30 days before the end <strong>of</strong> the every quarter<br />
and coordinate with Engr. Ramon Ayaton or Publications Committee members.<br />
