"We can only talk about architecture after we agree that
architecture does not mean just construction but also implies
creation of space, social environment, a universe around us,
because architecture exists on the verge of vision and reality."
This conception, voiced by Aaron Betsky, director of the
11th Venice Biennale of 2008, served as a backbone for the
exposition.
"Mirza Shafi Street Development - Old City Ambience and
Emanation" - one of the project exhibited at Venice Biennale
2008 by the Georgian architects - answers the above conception
as follows: "we look for a comfortable architectural identity
in old and in new. We wish to feel "at home" in the modern
world. The driving force behind our creative activities is the
ambience, the emanation of old city".
