Coordinator’s office for <strong>the</strong> Strategy of North<br />
Municipality of Zubin Potok c<strong>on</strong>tinues to be centre of traditi<strong>on</strong>al supporters of DSS<br />
orientati<strong>on</strong> <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> Serb most radical structures. But, <strong>the</strong> reality in <strong>the</strong> field seams to be more<br />
complicated taking into account <strong>the</strong> linking road of “Adriatic highway” from <strong>the</strong> border it<br />
enters in <strong>the</strong> narrow strip of 13 km of Serbia to arrive <strong>the</strong>n in M<strong>on</strong>tenegro, in <strong>the</strong> municipality<br />
of Rozaje, inhabited mainly by Bosni<strong>an</strong>s. This road used by different c<strong>on</strong>trab<strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>ists made <strong>the</strong><br />
links of illegal business, supporters of parallel instituti<strong>on</strong>s <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> radical groups of Marko Jaksic<br />
birth place be interlinked in <strong>an</strong> interesting way. Thus, l<strong>on</strong>g government <str<strong>on</strong>g>with</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> municipality<br />
by president Ristic, also due to <strong>the</strong> lack of electi<strong>on</strong>s made him indisputable leading <strong>an</strong> interest<br />
group that m<strong>an</strong>oeuvres by combining party bel<strong>on</strong>ging, nati<strong>on</strong>alism <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> business. Gazivoda<br />
lake outstretch in this area gave <strong>an</strong> even higher role of this municipality. In fact President<br />
Ristic working <strong>on</strong> this dynamics of microcosms, has become “ghetto inside ghetto” that has<br />
established a client system that depending <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> needs establishes a nati<strong>on</strong>alist positi<strong>on</strong><br />
towards Prishtina, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> Belgrade as well. Employment of workers of Security created by<br />
Ristic in his municipality enabled him <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> a group of people he owns use as a m<strong>on</strong>opoly of<br />
violence. 54<br />
Several times Municipality of Zubin Potok was involved in rivalry <str<strong>on</strong>g>with</str<strong>on</strong>g> police patrols of<br />
regi<strong>on</strong>al communicati<strong>on</strong> of Kosovo as well as <str<strong>on</strong>g>with</str<strong>on</strong>g> mountain patrols of Kosovo, when fire<br />
weap<strong>on</strong>s were also used. Cases of threatening KFOR were also registered in this<br />
municipality.<br />
During <strong>the</strong> local electi<strong>on</strong>s held <strong>on</strong> 11 May 2008, results of parallel electi<strong>on</strong>s are as follows:<br />
