<strong>Radio</strong> SetSCR-610 is a short range ground communication<br />
equipment u<strong>se</strong>d with the AAF InstrumentAp -<br />
proach System. It is a portable, low-powered FM transmitter<br />
and receiver, forming part of Instrument Landing<br />
<strong>Equipment</strong> SCR-241-A, AN/MRN-1, AN/MRN-2, AN/MRN-3<br />
and AN/CRN-7 It was developed for u<strong>se</strong> in ground communications<br />
and has been adapted for u<strong>se</strong> in communicating<br />
with control towers in connection with airport control. A<br />
further application is being made in installations in aircraft<br />
in which electrical power supplies preclude the u<strong>se</strong><br />
of a.c. operated equipment.<br />
It is a battery operated low-powered FM transmitter-receiver<br />
equipment operating over the frequency<br />
range 27-38.9 MC.<br />
The equipment is furnished to the AAF by ASF<br />
and AAF requirements are included in the requirements<br />
for the various.equipments with which it is u<strong>se</strong>d.<br />
Maintenance <strong>Equipment</strong> ME-13 is required for<br />
maintenance and tuning of the <strong>se</strong>t.<br />
