Human Services Department<br />
The <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Enfield</strong>, Human Services Department is a branch <strong>of</strong> local<br />
government that provides relief to <strong>Enfield</strong> residents in need <strong>of</strong> financial<br />
assistance.<br />
The Human Services Director is responsible for dispersing aid in the<br />
form <strong>of</strong> rent and food vouchers, security deposits, prevention <strong>of</strong> eviction,<br />
emergency fuel assistance, prevention <strong>of</strong> interrupted utility service, and<br />
emergency prescriptions.<br />
The Human Services Director works in unison with a number <strong>of</strong> local<br />
service agencies, including but not limited to, WIC, LISTEN, Visiting Nurse<br />
Alliance, Tri-County Community Action Programs, Social Security<br />
Administration and State <strong>of</strong> NH Health & Human Services in order to provide<br />
information, referrals, and assistance to residents.<br />
In the year <strong>2010</strong>, a total <strong>of</strong> $10,278.18 was disbursed to 40 households<br />
consisting <strong>of</strong> 52 adults and 15 children. Of these clients, 4 were part <strong>of</strong> the<br />
homeless population, and have been placed into housing <strong>of</strong> their own.<br />
The breakdown <strong>of</strong> the money disbursed in <strong>2010</strong>, is as follows:<br />
RENT PAYMENTS $ 4,918.00<br />
MORTGAGE 1,947.88<br />
ELECTRIC 1,412.30<br />
FOOD 450.00<br />
GASOLINE 50.00<br />
DIRECT CREMATION 1,500.00<br />
TOTAL $10,278.18<br />
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made<br />
donations to the food pantry this year. Throughout the year, we depend on<br />
support <strong>of</strong> the community to provide non- perishable food items and gift<br />
certificates to families in need <strong>of</strong> temporary assistance. The food pantry is<br />
available to all in need and calls are confidential.<br />
