Reading<br />
The Orean Qty Board <strong>of</strong> Education<br />
during the summer period<br />
from Juno 27 through August 5 will<br />
conduct a Summer Reading Pro.<br />
gram for pupils, first grade through<br />
eighth.<br />
The classes will be conducted in<br />
the new primary school on West<br />
av, between 6th and 7th sis., and<br />
at the new intermediate school on<br />
Bay av. at 19th st.<br />
Enrollment will be limited, with<br />
preference to children <strong>of</strong> <strong>Ocean</strong><br />
Oty property owners. RegiM rations<br />
will toe received beginning<br />
Monday, March 14, at the West av.<br />
school and at 4he Bay av school.<br />
The program will be entirely separate<br />
from the regular school year<br />
session. The instruction received,<br />
however, wiU be <strong>of</strong> tremendous<br />
value to the pupils participating in<br />
that they will further their read-<br />
Ing ability, The summer reading<br />
program will be available to pnvate<br />
as well as public school<br />
pupils.<br />
The youngster* will he grouped<br />
within their grade aicu according<br />
to their reading ability. Those<br />
pupils who need help will receive<br />
special attention, while those who<br />
are presently making satisfactory<br />
in reading will be given<br />
reading skills. In addition to reading<br />
instruction, the children will<br />
also participate In art and physical<br />
exercise activities.<br />
The program will be conducted<br />
durins; the morning hours <strong>of</strong> each<br />
day Monday through Friday from<br />

transportatian will be available for<br />
pupils living at remote distances<br />
