Summer
Reading
The Orean Qty Board of Education
during the summer period
from Juno 27 through August 5 will
conduct a Summer Reading Pro.
gram for pupils, first grade through
eighth.
The classes will be conducted in
the new primary school on West
av, between 6th and 7th sis., and
at the new intermediate school on
Bay av. at 19th st.
Enrollment will be limited, with
preference to children of Ocean
Oty property owners. RegiM rations
will toe received beginning
Monday, March 14, at the West av.
school and at 4he Bay av school.
The program will be entirely separate
from the regular school year
session. The instruction received,
however, wiU be of tremendous
value to the pupils participating in
that they will further their read-
Ing ability, The summer reading
program will be available to pnvate
as well as public school
pupils.
The youngster* will he grouped
within their grade aicu according
to their reading ability. Those
pupils who need help will receive
special attention, while those who
are presently making satisfactory
in reading will be given
reading skills. In addition to reading
instruction, the children will
also participate In art and physical
exercise activities.
The program will be conducted
