<strong>Sportspark</strong> has further<br />
established itself as the<br />
home of Cricket in<br />
Western Sydney hosting<br />
<strong>In</strong>ternational, National and<br />
Regional cricket<br />
competitions during the<br />
<strong>2011</strong>/12 season.<br />
BLACKTOWN INTERNATIONAL SPORTSPARK<br />
<strong>In</strong>ternational cricket returned<br />
to the <strong>Sportspark</strong> this year, with<br />
the venue hosting the Cricket<br />
Australia <strong>In</strong>ternational<br />
Women’s Rose Bowl<br />
Competition between<br />
Australia and New Zealand on<br />
January 27 & 29. Australia<br />
claimed victory in Game 2 to<br />
take out the series.<br />
The <strong>Sportspark</strong> continues<br />
to be utilised as a key playing<br />
and training venue for the<br />
highest level of Women’s cricket.<br />
The Lend Lease Breakers took<br />
on the Victorian Spirit in two T20<br />
matches, and a 50 over fixture at<br />
<strong>Blacktown</strong> <strong>In</strong>ternational<br />
<strong>Sportspark</strong>, as part of the<br />
Women’s National Cricket<br />
League Competition. The team<br />
also took part in an inter-squad<br />
match as part of the players<br />
preparations for international<br />
tours to <strong>In</strong>dia and New Zealand.<br />
NSW SpeedBlitz Blues<br />
opening batsman Phil Jacques<br />
led the NSW Men’s Futures<br />
League side in their four day<br />
fixture against the ACT from<br />
February 6 to 10.<br />
The <strong>In</strong>door Practice Centre<br />
continues to grow in popularity<br />
hosting a whole range of<br />
established and aspiring<br />
cricketers. The facility has been<br />
utilised by 33,924 patrons in<br />
the <strong>2011</strong>/12 period.
