TX Active ® photocatalytic whitetopping is
rue Jean Bleuzen in the Vanves district of
Paris, which was awarded the “Roc d’Or”.
For this reason a “pilot” study has been
already completed in cooperation with
Politecnico di Milano, regarding modeling
of the combined “urban heat island”/
photocatalysis phenomenon, with the
intention to test the developed system
on a specifi c area of Milan, including an
experimental site monitoring air and environmental
parameters for a determined
period of time.
Partnership
agreement with the
University of Malaga
for a new Chair
for Innovation
The Rector of the University of Malaga,
Adelaida de la Calle and Fabrizio Pedetta,
Managing Director of FYM, Italcementi
Group’s subsidiary in Spain, signed a
partnership agreement to form the “Chair
for Innovation in Construction Materials”.
This chair will establish collaborative
projects between the UMA School of
Architecture and FYM aimed at boosting
training activities and community
initiatives in Malaga on cement, mortar,
concrete and new construction materials.
Ricard Pié, Director of the UMA School
of Architecture, explained that a new
UMA course called “New Materials. Key
Techniques in Architectural Planning” will
be created and will amount to a total of
six credits. Practical training, a forum for
exchanging opinions and knowledge,
promotion of an annual idea contest
awarding students for the originality
and viability of proposals using new
materials in architectural fi elds, creation
of diverse publications to publicise the
results of dissemination and training
activities, as well as talks and conferences
The new Chair for Innovation in Construction Materials at the University of Malaga
is a good example of how industry and the academic world can closely cooperate
Photocatalytic cementitious materials
might be used for the following applications
compounds
White or gray concrete
White or gray concrete
are some of the main initiatives foreseen
thanks to this partnership agreement
between FYM and the UMA. The Chair
for Innovation in Construction Materials
is accessible to students in the second
year of Architecture and will include a
teaching team comprised of professors
from the University of Malaga School of
Architecture. As further confi rmation of
the mutual commitment between FYM
and UMA, a new course within the Chair
has been recently presented called “New
Materials. Technical keys in the architectural
project”.
