3.04 Innovation in process and related areas for design
intervention
Manufacturing Process Improvement-
Raw Material Quality & Availability Improvement:
Raw material quality & stock availability, There should be metal bank &
arrangement of material quality testing centre. Also the cluster should has
not totally depends upon the local supplier.
Sizing & Shaping Improvement:
Time consumption during filing & finishing, casual attitude while working
without marking, traditional tools which implies the human error, Product
alignment & evenness need to be more improved, upgrading skill and
practices for improving manufacturing quality.
Forms, Patterns & Finishing Improvement:
The quality finish, Esthetical forms and interesting pattern could be
developed. Antique finish, various colours and tonal pattern can be
developed keeping in mind the contemporary trends. Therefore New product
designs, patterns & finishes could be innovative areas for catering new
market keeping in mind cluster strength & its identity.
Product Quality Improvement:
New innovative and trendy products and quality up-gradation which could
be developed keeping in mind usages and emerging trends. Sheet work and
metal rod can be taken further as an opportunity to develop new range of
products like- Plated Jewelry, Mementos, Art Work for decoration, Lamp &
Lamp Shade, Modernized Furniture, etc.
Process Improvement:
Traditional techniques need to modernize with better practices & precision,
production from moulds could be adopt, modernized Lathe machine and
CNC machine to reduce hard labour & time consumption. Including these
they also need better tools, techniques and training.
