industries in West Bengal, especially in the automobile market. So, there
is better scope for dissemination of information on modern technology on
metal, development in marketing infrastructure through e-commerce and
e-business facilities.
Bank’s loan policy-
Banks situated nearby only
facilitate loan amount up to 7 lac
where average need of units are
around 15-20 lac towards their
development. Also for getting
100 % loan amount they have to
deposit 25% as a security deposit.
The interest rates over loan are
13% which is much higher for
these ssi.
Taxation system & government
policy-
There are lengthy taxation system
by the government which is very
hectic and complex for the cluster
like “Bargachia metal works”.
So government should make it
easy or one paper taxation and
set-up a local office regarding all
type of tax and pay like- cst, sell
tax, vat, municipal corporation
fees, etc. So, central government
policy on excise duty is affecting
small firms adversely and has
compelled them to lose market which is enjoyed by large industries: and
the small units have to compromise on price or quality for survival.
Intermediates/middle man-
There are advantage as well as
disadvantage having middle
man who deals among the
party and cluster. Sometime
cluster gets a good continuous
order from them and sometime
gets less profit margin on their
work order which affect their
livelihood and aspiration
toward development.
Worker availability/their pay-
Nearly every unit suffer the
shortage of their workers and
looking to employ newer but
it is very hard to find due to
lack interest towards hard core
industry like metal cluster.
Electricity-
There are issues with power
frequent supply to the cluster
like- in every day the power
would be unavailable for 2-3
hours and if available then
would have face overloading;
resulting fluctuation of current.
This power fluctuation affect
the production and work
quality. Hence there are diesel
generators among every unit
but suffers from pollution board
due to diesel generators.
