Thespian is taking a vacation after performing<br />

in four plays at the Beverly Arts Ctr... I would<br />

personally like <strong>to</strong> thank Sgts Ray Madigan,<br />

Roy Kwilos and Stan Salabara on the extra<br />

training and guidance they provide for me...<br />

Also Sgt Dapper (Earl) Davis had <strong>to</strong> add a<br />

bigger addition <strong>to</strong> the baby Sadaam Palace for<br />

his new BMW SUV. He had <strong>to</strong> trade the smaller<br />

beamer in for family reasons... Last but not<br />

least wel<strong>com</strong>e back Ernie Bell,a.k.a.“Big E.”<br />

The Professional Counseling Services Unit will<br />

sponsor a Men’s Serenity Weekend from September<br />

19-21, 2003, at St. Mary’s Retreat House in<br />

Lemont, Illinois.<br />

The retreat, implemented by the Alcohol Assistance<br />

Unit, is designed <strong>to</strong> give officers a chance <strong>to</strong> relax, reflect or<br />

just get away from the stress of everyday life, according <strong>to</strong><br />

Program Counselor Frank Calderon.<br />

“There are no pressures, no bosses, no demands, whatever<br />

you care <strong>to</strong> do, it’s your weekend. Absolutely nothing<br />

is manda<strong>to</strong>ry, ” Calderon said.<br />

Officers can catch up on reading, have individual<br />

conversations or just kick back and sit on the front porch<br />

and enjoy the view, he added.<br />

They can “meditate, take peaceful walks, enjoy the positive<br />

solitude, or join the group discussions,” Calderon added.<br />

The retreat will begin at 1900 hours on 19 Sept 03 and<br />

Everyone is wel<strong>com</strong>e at No <strong>Cop</strong> Outs regardless of<br />

rank, gender, race or religion, said Calderon. There are no<br />

records of attendance or membership. Attendance is voluntary<br />

and confidential.<br />
