Thespian is taking a vacation after performing
in four plays at the Beverly Arts Ctr... I would
personally like to thank Sgts Ray Madigan,
Roy Kwilos and Stan Salabara on the extra
training and guidance they provide for me...
Also Sgt Dapper (Earl) Davis had to add a
bigger addition to the baby Sadaam Palace for
his new BMW SUV. He had to trade the smaller
beamer in for family reasons... Last but not
least welcome back Ernie Bell,a.k.a.“Big E.”
You were missed... YEP! YEP! Remember
before entering or leaving you must have the
approval of the “Snarler.” Until we meet again.

The Professional Counseling Services Unit will
sponsor a Men’s Serenity Weekend from September
19-21, 2003, at St. Mary’s Retreat House in
Lemont, Illinois.
The retreat, implemented by the Alcohol Assistance
Unit, is designed to give officers a chance to relax, reflect or
just get away from the stress of everyday life, according to
Program Counselor Frank Calderon.
“There are no pressures, no bosses, no demands, whatever
you care to do, it’s your weekend. Absolutely nothing
is mandatory, ” Calderon said.
Officers can catch up on reading, have individual
conversations or just kick back and sit on the front porch
and enjoy the view, he added.
They can “meditate, take peaceful walks, enjoy the positive
solitude, or join the group discussions,” Calderon added.
The retreat will begin at 1900 hours on 19 Sept 03 and

No Cop Outs is a meeting place for police officers who
are experiencing difficulties in their lives or want to change
their lives because of alcohol and related addictions.
Everyone is welcome at No Cop Outs regardless of
rank, gender, race or religion, said Calderon. There are no
records of attendance or membership. Attendance is voluntary
and confidential.

two South Side and two North
