Glenbrook North Graduation 2011 (Karie Luc/Sun-Times Media)
Glenbrook High School District 225
Glenbrook North is a comprehensive high school serving the
students and community of Northbrook and is part of HSD 225. The
school is known for its commitment to academics, activities and
athletics and the achievement of its students in all three areas. An
extensive curriculum and an experienced faculty provide the finest
academic opportunities for all students.
A reading and writing lab, and resource centers in core academic
areas help students achieve their goals. Advanced use of technology
in the classroom, GBN library and sophisticated research techniques
support the learning process. Guidance counselors and a college
coordinator assist students in preparing their academic and career/
college plans. Twenty-two AP courses, six foreign languages,
elective offerings and a full array of fine and applied arts round out
the curriculum.
The 72-acre Glenbrook North campus underwent recent additions
and renovations providing state of the art learning spaces. Glenbrook
North is built around four courtyards; where possible maximum use
of natural lighting brightens class rooms and moods and saves
energy. Many eco-friendly modifications were made during the
renovations.
