The Northbrook Park District manages more than 500 acres of land
in 21 park areas and offers a wide variety of recreational and exercise
opportunities for all ages, interests and abilities.
Premier Facilities
Anetsberger Golf Course

The 9-hole short course caters to juniors, beginners and players
looking to improve their short game. The rebuilt course provides an
excellent short game practice area.
Leisure Center and Senior Center

Northbrook Theatre ....................................................(847) 291-2367
The Leisure Center is the headquarters for recreation programs for
children and adults and is home to Sunshine Preschool, special
events and parties. In the same building, the Senior Center delivers
dozens of programs, special events, trips and services for adults
age 55 and older, including tap dancing, exercise classes, a choir,
card games and a garden club.
Meadowhill Aquatic Center/Meadowhill Park

Swimmers can enjoy a lap pool, diving area, children’s water
playground and tube and body slides. The adjacent park offers
soccer, football, baseball, basketball, an outdoor ice rink and the
Teams Challenge Course and Jeffrey’s Climbing Tower. The Ed
Rudolph Velodrome features weekly bike races and special events.
Northbrook Sports Center

The Northbrook Sports Center contains an upgraded outdoor pool
complex with zero-depth area and two indoor NHL-sized ice rinks,
community rooms, a concession stand and skate shop. The Sports
Center hosts figure skating, hockey and speedskating classes and
competitions.

Inside the Leisure Center, the intimate Northbrook Theatre
showcases live theatre for family audiences. An adult company of
professional actors performs one-hour musicals. And, an awardwinning
children’s company presents theatre by youth for youth.
The Performing Arts Department also offers summer workshops and
professional instruction in music, dance and drama.
Sportsman’s Country Club

Sportsman’s is considered one of the best public golf complexes
on the North Shore, with the redesigned and nationally recognized
Classic 18 Course, the East 9 full-length course, a lighted 30-stall
practice range and a miniature golf course. Sportsman’s provides a
high level of customer service, instruction, maintenance and value.
Techny Prairie Park and Fields

This recreational showpiece spans 107 acres, offering a wide range
of recreational choices including lighted turf fields for soccer or
lacrosse, lighted ball fields, batting cages, a skate park, playground,
picnic shelter, fishing pond, the award-winning Trail Through Time,
natural prairie and wetlands, a pathway system and a sled hill.
Village Green Park

In the heart of downtown Northbrook, this well-loved park features
a popular playground, gazebo, lighted ball fields and acres of open
space, Park Fest concerts and special events. The Village Green
Center houses a Customer Registration Office.
Wood Oaks Green Park

Wood Oaks offers recreational choices for all seasons, from a large
sled hill to the picturesque Lake Shermerville for fishing.
