Combat Life Saver (CLS) Module
The objective of this module is to train selected Somali personnel
in basic Battlefield First Aid (BFA) and to prepare them to take
action immediately after an injury or onset of illness, in order
to save a life, prevent further injury, or to stabilise for further
treatment.
The principle subjects are;
- Battlefield First Aid Course
- Personal/unit-level Medical Equipment
- Medical Skills & Triage
- CLS Reporting
This module is conducted by the Italian team.
Fighting In Built-Up Areas (FIBUA) Module
Mine and Improvised Explosive Devices
Awareness (MIEDA) Module
The objective of this module is to train selected Somali engineer
personnel in the operation and maintenance of the engineer
assets at platoon and company level.
Subjects taught in this module include;
- Mine Awareness in Somalia
- Combat Minefield Identification
- Countermine Operations
- Minefield Reconnaissance
- Reporting
This module is conducted by the Italian team.
The objective of this module is to train the selected Somali
personnel to perform individual combat fighting skills and
basic platoon-sized missions in urban environments.
The core subjects in this module include;
- Introduction to urban combat operations (vision, orientation,
weapon effects, protection, liaison, and coordination)
- Section FIBUA tasks (recce/offence/defence)
- Section FIBUA command and control
