The largest graduating ceremonies<br />

in the University’s history took place<br />

as 5278 new graduates received their<br />

Bachelors and Masters degrees. The<br />

breakdown by Faculty is as follows:<br />

Humanities and Social Sciences,<br />

2151; Natural Sciences, 480;<br />

Engineering Sciences, 1238;<br />

Graduates of the Medical School for International Health<br />

Health Sciences, 510; School of<br />

Management, 864; and 35 graduates<br />

who received their Masters degrees<br />

from the Albert Katz International<br />

School for Desert Studies at the<br />

Blaustein Institutes for Desert<br />

Research.<br />

A record number of Doctoral<br />

degrees were conferred as 208<br />

graduates received their Ph.D.s from<br />

the Kreitman School of Advanced<br />

Graduate Studies. The degree<br />

recipients included 73 from the<br />

Faculty of Humanities and Social<br />

Sciences; 45 from the Faculty of<br />

Natural Sciences; 40 from the Faculty<br />

of Engineering Sciences; 37 from the<br />

Faculty of Health Sciences; 6 from<br />

the School of Management; and 7<br />

from the Interdisciplinary Studies<br />

program.<br />

At the ceremony of the Joyce<br />

and Irving Goldman Medical School,<br />

59 new doctors from the 24th<br />

graduating class received their<br />

M.D.s, including Dr. Rania Okabi,<br />

who is the first female Bedouin to<br />

become a medical doctor. At the<br />

same ceremony, 70 students of the<br />

32nd incoming class took the<br />

Physician’s Oath.<br />

Twenty students graduated from<br />

the Faculty of Health Science’s<br />

Medical School for International<br />

Health (MSIH) in collaboration with<br />

Columbia University Medical<br />

Center. The MSIH is a unique<br />

collaborative medical degree<br />

program designed to train doctors<br />

for the practice of global health.
