o The <strong>Board</strong> approved to donate one rescue vehicle to ‘state crisis group’ for the purpose of<br />
combating any emergency arising out of accident either chemical, fire, etc.<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved to provide financial assistance to construct toilet in girls schools of strength<br />
200-300 in 32 educational districts, at a cost of Rs.16.00 lakhs with a condition that the toilets<br />
can be constructed only in the places wherever piped water supply facility is available.<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved the training program to the <strong>Board</strong> Officers in Germany under GTZ.<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved sanction of Rs.4.00 lakhs to ‘M/s ECO Watch’ for the awareness activities<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved to establish regional offices in all the districts in phases before <strong>2005</strong>-<strong>06</strong> for<br />
better environmental surveillance and also approved the proposals for keeping Environmental<br />
officer as Head of the regional office with one Deputy Environmental Officer and supporting<br />
staff<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> agreed in principle to permit the distilleries to adopt the new method of, ‘one-time<br />
controlled land application of treated Bio-Methanated distillery spent wash as liquid manure’; as<br />
one of the options for treatment of effluents<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved revised Budget estimated for <strong>2005</strong>-<strong>06</strong> and general Budget Estimate for<br />
20<strong>06</strong>-07<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> agreed to pay an amount of Rs.81,800/- in addition to Rs.3.20 Lakhs already paid to<br />
the Transport Commissioner to take up repair and update vehicle emission equipments<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved for purchase of land in Bellary and Chitradurga<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> approved to provide Rs.10.00 Lakhs for installation of Waste Water treatment plant<br />
for treating the waste generated exclusively from hospital activities<br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> Approved the expenditure of Rs.6,26,212/- made towards creating awareness during<br />
celebration of Ganesha festival -<strong>2005</strong><br />
o The <strong>Board</strong> Approved the expenditure of Rs.3,40,518/- made towards creating awareness during<br />
celebration of Deepavali festival - <strong>2005</strong>.<br />
4.1 MEETINGS OF THE TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC)<br />
The Technical Advisory Committee is constituted by the KSPCB and has Members as indicated in<br />
ANNEXURE V.<br />
The TAC provides technical advise to the <strong>Board</strong> in matters relating to pollution control proposals, E.I.A., etc.,<br />
submitted by the industries and local authorities; makes suggestions for stipulating standards for liquid<br />
effluents, gaseous emissions and other allied technical matters. It also evaluates technical objections,<br />
suggestions recorded during the Environment Public Hearing.<br />
