There is the worship of the temple icon which is<br />

the perceptible outer object whose presence and<br />

awakening within the heart posits the second descent -<br />

this is what is described as the realization of the<br />

Kingdom of God within, and capable of being so<br />

established in the hearts of all. Yogis realize God within<br />

themselves in their hearts, as the Inner Ruler Immortal.<br />

The realisation of God as Avatar or historical<br />

personality with a divine mission to establish<br />

righteousness everywhere is much more difficult.<br />

Indeed it is only the Grace of God that makes the yogis<br />

perceive him as the Divine personality - Indeed Sri<br />

Krsna says that ignorant men treat him as just a man<br />

not knowing his divine nature - whose birth and activity<br />

are divine - janma karma ca me divyam. A Prahlada<br />

knew Vamana as an avatar, a Hanuman recognized<br />

Rama, Vidura knew Sri Krsna to be the Godhead -<br />

apart from the Rishis and Gods.<br />

To serve Him in the world is indeed a glorious<br />

service and leads to the realisation of the Cosmic<br />

Deities of the three spheres of Bhur Bhuvah and Svar,<br />

and the great trinity spoken of in the Agamas. Above it<br />

one comes across that mysterious power called the<br />
