Commission (FTC) has
amend ed the Telemarketing
Sales Rule to give consumers
a choice about wheth er
they want to receive
most telemarketers calls.
Consumers are able to
put their phone numbers
on a national ‘do not call’
registry. It is illegal for
most telemarketers to call a
number listed on the registry.
Consumers may sign up on
the Web at www.donotcall.gov
or call 888-382-1222. The
hearing impaired may call
866-290-4236.

either through the FTC site
or through the California
attorney general’s web
site, www.caag.state.ca.us/
