Green DWC
Located in an impressive campus that was
opened in 1998, Dubai Women>s College
(DWC) is an environment friendly college.
The campus enjoys vast green areas and it has
recycling bins placed in four different locations.
The college works closely with the Emirates
Environment Group (EEG), a leading
non-governmental organization, which
regularly collects the college’s production of
recyclable materials. In 2001, EEG started
to place Recycling Centres in private and
government schools to support and motivate
them. The schools were chosen as the ideal
place to start with, as the problem of waste
management can be successfully addressed
when started at the base level of the community,
with the youth as the primary target.
Why Recycling?
Recycling paper reduces tree cutting and spares
our forests.
Recycling metal, plastic and glass reduces
resource extraction for raw materials and the
ecosystem destruction associated with mining
and drilling.
