Demographic details District Mandla consists of 4 tehsils namely Nainpur, Mandla, Bicchia and Niwas with total number of 1234 villages. As per the District census report of the year 2002, total population of Mandla district, with the geographical area of 8771sq. km, is 779414. Density of population is 89 per sq. km. Mohgaon block under tehsil Mandla, where Basania project is proposed has the population of 167663 with the population density of 104 per sq. km.
