<strong>Current</strong> <strong>Information</strong> on
the Norsborg Metro Depot
We have now begun the process of constructing a new
Metro depot in Norsborg. The Norsborg Depot is expected
to come into service in 2016 and will be used to clean,
maintain and repair Metro rolling stock.
To ensure that the depot does not take up more space than
necessary, it will mostly be constructed underground, in
Eriksbergsåsen, where there will be enough room to park
Metro carriages. There will also be cleaning, repair and
servicing facilities along Hallundavägen, with offices, staff
rooms, and so on.
While we are building, the work will be noticeable.
The planned depot building west of Norsborg station
will require construction transports via Hallundavägen to
the E4. To enable construction and blasting work in
Eriksbergsåsen, a work tunnel will enter the ridge from
Sankt Botvids väg. Construction transports will also be
exiting from this tunnel.
Blasting and drilling will be carried out between 07.00 and
22.00 every working day. After 22.00, blasted rock will
be excavated from the site. You can read more about the

Norsborg has been chosen for the new Metro depot because
it is both close to the terminus and because the local rock
is of good quality. The proximity of the depot to the terminus
reduces driving distances, which is beneficial for the
environment.
The new depot is part of a whole system that will pave
the way for the future of Metro services in Stockholm and
which also includes new rolling stock and a new signalling
system. The new initiatives will enable greater reliability for
Metro Red Line services as well as expanding them.
In conjunction with the depot construction, the Metro
stations at Norsborg and Hallunda will also be upgraded.
Happening Right Now
We are now beginning the surveying process. This means
that we will be inspecting buildings in the area – checking
for visible damage, conducting leakage inspections on ducts
and flues, surveying chimneys and so on. During these inspections,
we will need to access buildings and apartments.
Going forward, we will start establishing the construction
facilities, for example site huts, materials storage areas,
space for vehicles and machinery, and so on. We will also
build a stormwater pond, remove existing tracks, fence off
the construction site and carry out a certain amount
of blasting.
We regret that you may experience some disruption during
the construction period. We will do our utmost to minimize
this and hope that you appreciate the final results.

There are several reasons for the barriers around
the construction site, the most important of which
is safety! Please respect these barriers, for your
own safety as well as the safety of others.

Service <strong>Information</strong>
Kärsbyvägen
Skarpbrunnavägen will be closed at its western end until
further notice. This means that the normal route of Bus 708
will have to be changed and that a smaller bus will serve
Skarpbrunnavägen/Karsby International School. During the
construction period, the new route will be Tre Källors väg –
Tumbakopplet – Hallundavägen. Bus 708 will connect with
its normal route at Karsby International School.
The bus stops at Kärsbyvägen, Skarpbrunnavägen, Sankt
Albans Väg, and Eriksbergsåsen will not be served during
the construction period.
Normal services will be replaced by a free shuttle service
from 07.00 until 19.00.
Pedestrians and Cyclists
During the construction period, we are planning to build a
provisional pedestrian and cycle bridge between Skarpbrunna
vägen and Hallundavägen. It will cross directly over
the construction site via a stair tower with a bike ramp.

Until construction is complete, the bridge will provide a safe
connection, particularly for children, between Skarpbrunnavägen
and Karsby International School, as well as the sports
ground.
