HEALTH CARE & CHURCH TEACHING is the topic for discussion at the next Catholic Social Teaching series sponsored by area parishes. It is being held on Tuesday, March 13 th , 2012, 7:00-8:30 pm at the St. John’s Parish Community Center Hall, 112 E. 2 nd St, Frederick, MD. Guest speaker Gregory Rausch, M.D., a practicing physician as well as a deacon of the Church, will discuss what the Church teaches about healthcare, how the “Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act” passed in 2010 affects patients, and what the Church says about it. Requirements of the Act dealing with contraceptive coverage and the applicability to religious institutions have been prominent in the news recently.
