Setting Windows User Names and Local Security Policies A.2. Setting User Rights Assignments To check or set a user rights assignment, perform the following steps: 1. On Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Local Security Policy. 2. Under Local Policies, click User Rights Assignment. 3. Double-click the desired rights in the right pane. 4. Click Add User or Group. 5. Type the user name and click OK. 6. Click Apply, and then click OK. 7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 to check or set each desired right. Note: Reboot the server to make any changes effective. A.3. Setting Security Options To check or set a security option, perform the following steps: 1. On Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Local Security Policy. 2. Under Local Policies, click Security Options. 3. Double-click the desired security option and update the setting. 4. Click Apply, and then click OK. Appendix B Example XPC-L Server PCI Locations Charts and Worksheets Manufacturing determines the slots in which VI cards and network cards should be in the XPC-L servers. The cards should be installed in these slots only, and the VI cards should be used only for the indicated function (direct connect host, crossover, and synchronization paths). While the VI card placement in the XPC-L server must remain as documented in this appendix, XPC-L master/slave configurations that have only one interface between each XPC-L server and each host may alter the host destination of a direct connect path. For example, secondary server direct connect path 01 (S-DC01) interfacing to host B instead of host A. For fully redundant XPC-L configurations with two interfaces between each host and each server, we strongly recommend that you follow the host interface scheme documented in this appendix. For Dorado 300 Series servers, Table B–1 shows the placement of the VI cards and network cards in the XPC-L server when looking from the back (left part of the server). Table B–2 and Table B–3 show the placement of the cards in the XPC-L server when looking from the back (right part of the server). This chart also identifies the MAC addresses of the network cards. For Dorado 200 Series servers, Table B–4 and Table B–6 show the placement of the VI cards and network cards in the XPC-L server when looking from the front. Table B–5 and Table B–7 shows the placement of the cards in the XPC-L server when looking from the back. This chart also identifies the MAC addresses of the network cards. Manufacturing also provides a worksheet (Table B–8, Table B–9, and Table B–10) to help you create user names and security settings.
