Global Precipitation Trend • Precipitation is change in a more complicated way. Precipitation trends don’t look like temperature trends. • Typically, people believe that as global temperatures increase so will precipitation, but the trick is that the average precipitation is what is increasing. • We also see precipitation decreasing in areas that are already somewhat dry such as the Sahara desert. While at first this doesn’t seem like a bad thing, it should be noted that the area is expanding such that areas that once could support crops may now be having problems 48
