A Much Cleaner Image by Eliminating Noise from
Digital Video Signals
The Digital Optimizer detects and removes the kind of noise unique
to digital video signals. It analyzes every scene and applies the level
of noise reduction most suitable for each, helping to bring out the
full image quality of high-definition sources.
That's why HD images are so clear, detailed and beautiful on
VIERA's large screen.
This function reduces the false contour noise that sometimes occurs
in motion images on a plasma display
panel to reproduce smooth, noiseless
motion images. It detects motion
patterns that tend to generate noise, and
then makes the necessary adjustments
Conventional
to maximize image quality. This results in
sharp, clear reproduction of even
high-speed motion images by maximizing
the superb gradation capability of the
plasma display panel, thus offering
VIERA PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL
HIGH PICTURE TECHNOLOGY
Panasonic's original Real Black Drive System and Deep Black Filter
reproduce the deep, rich blacks that were inherently difficult to
achieve due to the structure of the plasma display panel.
Further, the increased cell aperture ratio and improved discharge
efficiency help maintain outstanding contrast on VIERA's
high-resolution full-HD panel.
Deep Blacks Are Vital for Displaying High-Quality Images
By improving efficiency in the preliminary discharge needed to drive the panel, Panasonic
has significantly reduced the amount of light emitted during the discharge. This minimizes
the "whiteout" effect that causes a faint luminescence to appear in black parts of an image.
The result is both brighter, sharper images and lower power consumption.
Finer Gradation, Greater Expressivity
Gradation: 4,096* Equivalent Steps of Gradation
To take maximum advantage of the full-HD panel's high resolution,
VIERA uses up to 16-bit signal processing. This increases gradation
to the equivalent of 4,096 steps, which minimizes noise and
blackout. Both light and dark parts of an image are expressed
clearly and beautifully.
