Adult Education
ADULT bASIC EDUCATION
Adult Basic Education (ABE) focuses on the basic reading, writing and math. Class levels are math
1 through 4, and communication level s 2 through 4. An initial assessment is given to each student
so they may be placed in the correct learning level. For more information call the Adult Education

ENGLISh AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Everett Community College offers English as a Second Language (ESL) for students whose first language
is not English. The ESL classes cover reading, writing, listening and speaking. To sign up for ESL classes,
please call 425-388-9291.
GED PREPARATION
General Educational Development (GED) classes are offered to students that have either finished ABE
classes or that have scored high enough on the initial assessment in Adult Education to be placed
in the preparatory classes for the GED. The classes will cover everything that will be on the GED test:
reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Online classes are available for individuals scoring
high enough on the assessment. For more information, please call 425-388-9291.
yOUTh RE-ENGAGEMENT
The Youth Re-Engagement program is a dual credit program designed for youth age 16-21 that have
dropped out of school. Those who qualify to enter the program can earn a high school diploma as
well as a college degree. To qualify you must be 16-21 old, have at least an 8th grade reading level
and not have a high school diploma (a GED is ok). For more information, please call 425-259-8738.
hIGh SChOOL COMPLETION PROGRAM
The High School Completion Program is for anyone who does not have a high school diploma. If you
are under the age of 18, you will need to come into the High School Completion office to receive an
“under-age” packet. Students 19 years or older will receive a 75% reduction in tuition fees for the
High School Completion Program. Everyone pays lab fees, textbooks and any other fee that may be
attached to a class. There is no financial assistance for High School Completion classes. For more
