If you are attending EvCC now, or have attended within the past two quarters, you have a registration<br />

access date/time in our system, and you may be able to register now. See “In Person” and “Online”<br />

registration information on the next page.<br />

WhO CAN ENROLL?<br />

If you are age 18 or older, or if you have a high school diploma or GED, you are eligible to register<br />

in classes. Some programs will require a high school diploma or GED.<br />

If you are younger than 18, or have not yet graduated from high school, review our “Teens in <strong>College</strong>”<br />

options at www.everettcc.edu/teensincollege<br />

If you are a junior or senior in high school and interested in our Running Start program, call<br />

hOW DO I START?<br />

It is best for you to apply for admission at least 60-90 days before the quarter starts in order to gain<br />

an early registration access date/time. There is no application fee. Computers are available outside<br />

of Enrollment Services for new students to use to apply for admission.<br />

It is necessary to apply for admission in order to register. Students who are admitted early generally<br />

receive priority in registration. Walk-in students will be delayed if they have not yet applied, taken<br />

our placement test, completed orientation, met with an advisor, or if the classes they want are full.<br />

PLACEMENT TESTING REQUIREMENTS<br />

Placement testing is required of all students taking more than 7 <strong>credit</strong>s and/or taking classes with<br />

Math and/or English prerequisites. This is not a pass or fail test. The assessment helps you and your<br />

advisor select the right level of <strong>courses</strong>. See the testing schedule on this page.<br />

WhEN DO I hAvE TO PAy?<br />

You are expected to pay within five working days of your registration or before the last business day<br />

before the beginning of the quarter, whichever comes first. Once classes begin, payment is<br />

due immediately. The <strong>College</strong> reserves the option to drop or bill unpaid students. Students who are<br />

receiving financial aid, a scholarship, or third-party payment must make prior arrangements with<br />

the Financial Aid and Cashiers Office in order to avoid being dropped or billed.<br />

IS FINANCIAL AID AvAILAbLE? OR A PAyMENT PLAN?<br />

Please read the description about tuition, fees and payment on page 9 very carefully. If you feel you<br />

need assistance to pay for your college costs, contact our Financial Aid Office immediately, or go to<br />

www.everettcc.edu/sfs for information about grants, loans, and scholarships. Please apply for aid<br />

early. You may complete the federal financial aid application form online - go to www.fafsa.ed.gov<br />

Need a payment plan? You may submit an application for our “20-40 Plan” which sets payment<br />

deadlines as follows: 50% by the regular deadline and the remaining amount split between payments<br />

by the 20th calendar day and by the 40th calendar day. Go to the Cashiers Office for the “20-40<br />

Plan” application after you register. You do not need to be eligible for financial aid to participate.<br />

If you have not attended within the past two quarters, it is easy to update your record for re-enrollment. Go<br />

to www.everettcc.edu/studentforms and complete the Adjustment to Status form. Or, you may call<br />

425-388-9219 and ask us to mail you the form. When we process your completed form, we will send<br />

you registration information. If it is close to the beginning of the quarter, you may simply come into the<br />

Enrollment Services Office to start the registration process. Call 425-388-9219 for more information.<br />

MANDATORY ORIENTATION<br />

All students who are new to <strong>Everett</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> are required to complete orientation before<br />

registering for classes. Orientation is available online at www.everettcc.edu/orientation If you are<br />

unable to complete online orientation or need accommodations, please contact Enrollment Services<br />

at 425-388-9209 or orientation@everettcc.edu Senior citizens using the senior audit<br />

waiver are not required to complete orientation. Details about the senior citizen tuition waiver<br />

can be found on page 68.<br />

plACEMENT TESTING AND ASSESSMENT<br />

RESULTS hELP yOU TAkE ThE RIGhT CLASSES<br />

The Testing Center is located in Glacier Hall. Various tests are offered on a regular basis; call<br />

425-388-9288 for a schedule or go to www.everettcc.edu/testing. The current schedule (valid –<br />

January 9, <strong>2012</strong>- March 30, <strong>2012</strong>) is listed below. Arrive early; space is limited.<br />

Entry placement is required for all new students taking more than seven <strong>credit</strong>s and/or Math and<br />

English <strong>courses</strong>.<br />

• COMPASS test: Monday 7:30am–6:30pm (office closes at 6:30pm),<br />

Thursday 9am–4:30pm (office closes at 4:30pm).<br />

• Fee: $30, which must be paid in advance at the Cashier’s Office. Bring the receipt to the<br />

Testing Center to take the test.<br />

• Persons who have more than 45 college <strong>credit</strong>s, or who have completed college composition<br />

classes at another college (with a grade of C or higher), may submit a copy of their college<br />

transcript to the Enrollment Services Office with a written request for a placement test<br />

waiver. The form is at www.everettcc.edu/studentforms. Waiver of the placement test does<br />

not necessarily satisfy course prerequisites.<br />

Special Test Requirements:<br />

• A foreign language placement test may be required for placement in a foreign language<br />

course. Contact the Testing Center for testing times. No Fee.<br />

• GED testing is also offered in the Testing Center by appointment only on Tuesday,<br />

Wednesday, and Friday. Call 425-388-9288 for schedule and fees or go to<br />

www.everettcc.edu/testing<br />
