Beginning 12-leaD eCg inteRPRetation (1.2 CeUs)
You understand the rhythm the patient is displaying on the monitor, but how do you
interpret the 12-lead ECG? Is the chest pain significant enough to require thrombolytics
or interventional cardiology? What ST segment abnormalities should I be looking for in a
12-lead? What changes occur with electrolyte abnormalities and bundle branch blocks?
This course will explore the beginning concepts of 12-lead ECG interpretation and enhance
the learners understanding of this valuable tool. This interactive course includes lecture,
group participation, and skill acquisition to facilitate the learning activity. Basic cardiac
rhythm knowledge is a prerequisite to this course. Students should bring their own calipers
for ECG exercises. In order to receive a certificate of successful completion for 7.0 contact
hours, all attendees must sign the official registration form, attend the entire seminar,
and turn in a completed evaluation form. Fee: $240
laB inteRPRetation (.4 CeUs)
Do you often struggle at understanding lab results? How do the results relate to the
differential diagnosis and course of patient treatment? Interpretation of lab data is an
essential skill required of nurses working in all practice settings. Through the review of
physiology, pathophysiology and the application of critical thinking skills, you will be able
to more easily appreciate how lab tests are integrated in patient care decisions. Applying
this knowledge within the clinical setting will lead to improved patient care. Participants
will receive a handout, including information detailing normal ranges, panic values, and
the pathophysiologic basis of abnormal values. In order to receive a Certificate of Successful
Completion for 4.0 contact hours, all attendees must sign the official registration form,
participate in the entire seminar, take the pretest, pass a competency posttest with a
minimum score of 84%, and turn in a completed evaluation form. Fee: $95
Does your job require being able to read an ECG rhythm strip? Ever wondered what those
squiggly lines mean on a monitor? Basic ECG Rhythms focuses on building your skill to
identify normal and abnormal rhythms. This two-day class builds a foundation for basic
ECG rhythm monitoring competence. Practical time is spent with students teaching rate
and rhythm calculations to insure accurate learning. A pre-test and a competency posttest
will be conducted to ensure learner accuracy. Clinicians who wish to strengthen their
cardiac monitoring skills and those working in acute environments should investigate this
course. In order to receive a Certificate of Successful Completion for 12.0 contact hours,
all attendees must sign the official registration form, participate in the entire seminar,
take the pretest, pass the competency posttest with 84%, and turn in a completed
