Urcelay explains that the authorised laboratory
must comply to the following requirements
in terms of quality assurance:
• Impartiality, independence and integrity.
• Qualified and trained personnel with
technical knowledge and the experience
necessary to perform the allocated functions.
• Standardised procedures and test methods
in accordance with NF 45001 and NF
EN ISO 17025 standards.
• Registry system in accordance with NF
45001 and NF ISO 17025 standards.
• Identification of the samples and test objects.
• Test methods (installations and control
elements) in accordance with NF 45001
and NF ISO 17025 standards.

In addition, Fagor Industrial uses management
tools such as the FMEA which allow knowledge
to be shared and permits the management of
foreseeable problems in each factor in an order
of priority. In the so-called convergent engineering,
all the aspects must be outlined at the
time of the final launch.
From a technological point of view, the products
in the Fagor Industrial catalogue must address
aspects relating to mechanics, electrical,
electronics, gas technology, steam technology…of
a certain degree of complexity and this
somewhat hinders the processes. Therefore,
the laboratory aims to continue investigating
the granting of other authorisations awarded by
different certifying bodies in any of these areas.
At present, the Laboratory has 5 permanent
members of staff with occasional assistance
as required by the work loads. The Authorisation
has been granted thanks to the joint efforts
in which each one has contributed their experience
and knowledge in order to tackle the
problems arising from the process.
