New campaign aimed at inspiring youths

The occurrence of teen suicide
is becoming more common every
year in South Africa. The suicide
rate for children between ages10
and 14 has more than doubled
over the last fifteen years. Furthermore,
one in five youths consider
suicide. The fastest growing age
is young people under 35, specifically
female suicides which peak
between 15 to 19 years.
But, it doesn’t have to be this
way. The Be Your Dream campaign
aims at encouraging young
people to believe in themselves.
The campaign also empowers
people, especially the youth, to

seek assistance when necessary.
It serves as an early intervention
strategy towards promoting emotional
wellness and thus saving
and improving lives.
Anais, LifeLine’s goodwill
ambassador, is taking this mes-
sage to schools around the coun-
try to inspire young people to
reach their potential and show
them that they can do more with
their lives with the right guidance
and counselling.
The Be your Dream production
is performed twelve times per
month at schools, reaching out to
over 12,000 youths every month.
Over three years they hope to
have travelled through South Africa,
reaching out to most schools
and an estimated 432,000 youths.
This will make a huge difference in
the end, resulting in a healthy social
wellness in South Africa.
The project also intends to
spread awareness throughout
South Africa regarding LifeLine
and their free 24-hour telephonic
counselling services and therapeutic
counselling provided for
anyone in need. The project is
aimed at supporting and assisting
individuals during a time when
social wellness is required.

of ervaar en terwyl ons besig is met die voorbereiding is my gebed dat
elke skrywer iets nuuts het om vir iemand oop te breek, dat elke leser iets
nuuts sal raaklees en elke adverteerder ook iets deur dié uitgawe sal
ervaar. Indien u dit nie so beleef nie, wil ons graag van u hoor en weet
in watter kategorie u uself sou wou sien.
Die oorgrote meerderheid van ons artikels gaan oor bedieninge en
gemeenskapsnuus, waarby baie lesers al baat gevind het en betrokke
geraak en met netwerke ingeskakel het. So ‘n voorbeeld is die Tekkie-
Tax projek wat deur Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane aangebied is nadat
die artikel in verlede maand se uitgawe verskyn het (sien berig in ons
volgende uitgawe). Verder het iemand uit Pietermaritzburg gereageer
op ‘n advertensie nadat hulle van Tekkie-Tax ‘n uitgawe van Die
Erdekruik ontvang het. Die positiewe hiervan is dat dit ons opdrag
bevestig om bedieninge en positiewe nuus te publiseer. Ons wil u uit-
nooi om ook betrokke te raak en ons in kennis te stel van gebeure,
optredes en getuienisse om die markplein met opbouende nuus te bereik.
The past month I have really enjoyed the biblical discussions amongst
friends. One was on Hebrews 13, and it truly blessed me as we empha-
sed verse 1 “Let brotherly love continue;” the Philadelphia love that
Christians have for other Christians. Verse 2. “Do not forget to entertain
strangers.” To show hospitality to traveling teachers and ministers of
the Gospel is part of godly living, they might be the unexpected angels.
Verse 4. “Honour the marraige, let your conduct be without covetous-
ness, be content with such things.” Then a promise. “I will never leave you,
nor forsake you. So we may boldy say: The Lord is my helper; I will not
fear.” When we cry for help, there is one who comes running toward us
to help and to relieve. Let us then live according to the truth and remain
faithful and steadfast in our walk of faith.
“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the
will of God, you may receive the promise” (Hebr 10:36). Continue to bear
up under difficult circumstances.

verwyder. Hulle is met ’n gebed ter
beskerming en met ’n onwrikbare
geloof die strate in.
Die leier, Arinda Botha, is
voorheen gedreig en geintimideer
om hierdie aksie te laat vaar. Me-

“Moet ek die inspuiting neem?
Ek het verlede winter die inspuiting
geneem en het nogsteeds siek
geword.”
Dit is ’n vraag wat pasiente
dikwels vra en die opmerking dat
die inspuiting nie werk nie, is net
so algemeen. Elke winter bring
verkoues en griep mee, en ook ernstiger
infeksies soos brongitis en
longontstekings. Meeste pasiente
kan twee tot vier boonste lugweg
infeksies per jaar kry. Skoolgaande
kinders kan tot soveel as twaalf
infeksies per jaar ontwikkel. Moeders
tussen die ouderdomme van
20 en 30 kry meer infeksies as
ander volwassenes omdat hulle
kontak met kinders groter is.
Daar is tans ongeveer 200
virusse wat verkoues en griep
veroorsaak. Die huidige griep inspuitings
dek tans net drie virusse.
Pneumovax of Immunovax is
is ’n vaksien wat gemik is teen
pneumokokkale infeksie, ’n organisme
wat ’n groter mortaliteit
en morbiditeits risiko inhou vir
ouer en verswakte pasiente. Dit is
nie ’n griep vaksien nie, maar ’n
degelowiges sal weet dat wanneer
ons, ons geloof wil uitleef, vervolging
ons voorland is.
Derhalwe moet hierdie aksie as
’n wekroep beskou word om vas te
staan en ondersteuning te verleen,
veral met voorbidding vir die min
werkers wat bereid is om hulle tyd
en hulpbronne hiervoor op te of-
fer. Jakobus 2:14 sê: “Wat baat dit,
my broeders, as iemand sê dat hy
die geloof het, maar hy het nie die
werke nie? Dié geloof kan hom tog
nie red nie?”
Diabetes en die griep
inspuiting
baie goeie tweede inspuiting om
te neem as voorkomende maatreël
veral vir ouer diabete.
My aanbeveling sou wees vir
alle diabete om beide die inspuitings
te neem. Die inspuitings kan
nie ’n infeksie veroorsaak nie,
want die pasient word nie met ’n
lewendige virus geënt nie. Die
inspuitings kan wel ’n laegraadse
koors reaksie uitlok wat ’n dag
of twee kan duur. Pasiente wat
allergies is vir eiers mag dalk ’n
allergiese reaksie ervaar op dié
inspuiting.
Die inspuitings verminder
die risiko op komplikasies soos
brongitis en longontsteking en
verkort die herstel tydperke van
infeksies. In terme van bloedsuiker
kontrole maak dit baie sin om die
inspuitings te neem omdat selfs ’n
ligte verkoue kan veroorsaak dat
dit moeilik is om bloedsuiker te
beheer. Finansieël maak die inspuitings
baie sin; net een voorskrif,
’n dokterskonsultasie en ’n
dag van die werk af kan baie meer
kos as dié inspuitings.
Moet jy die inspuiting neem?
Ja, ek dink jy moes dit al reeds
gedoen het.

One visit to a fatal air crash
site should convince anyone that
death holds no dignity. Yet in the
name of dignity we refrain from
speaking up when good judgment
necessitates intervention.
Such ‘deadly diplomacy’ readily
becomes both an excuse and a
stumbling block when peers
should be prompted to stop flying,
or get help. Bear in mind, pilots
who make the silliest mistakes
are ironically often experienced
and highly acclaimed. In numerous
cases their behaviour in the
period before an accident should
have prompted those nearest and
dearest to speak up and intervene.
Vicarious and contributing
liability, though ingrained in
aviation insurance, seldom mat-
ter when it comes to peers or fellow
aviators. The aviation culture
prohibits questioning or intervention
– which would be seen as in-
terference. Especially where people
of ‘superior’ class, social stan-
ding and skill are involved, discretion
is regarded as ‘the better
part of valour’.
Such foolishness is perhaps
illustrated by the fable of The
Emperor’s New Clothes. The story’s
plot involves two swindling
weavers who invoke collective
denial in the regent and those surrounding
him to pretend that his
regal garments and attire are ex-
quisitely beautiful, though invisible
to all lacking taste and discernment.
The monarch happily
subscribes to such self-delusion.
His pride and vanity also precludes
and prevents his courtiers and

closest advisers from speaking up
as to avoid embarrassment. Ultimately
he makes a complete fool
of himself as he marches through
the city streets utterly naked.
Everyone with him persists with
the fallacy until a little boy in the
crowd points out the pompous regent’s
nakedness.
Keeping up appearances can
indeed be deceiving, or perhaps
a flying buddy’s ‘whiskey tan’
is written all over his face, but
everyone around him prefers to
just ignore this. Do you spare his
feelings, or his life? He may be
in a real life crisis, too proud or
too embarrassed to come clean.
Meanwhile, he logs up one close
call after the other. Respecting his
dignity, we condone his actions
and await disaster to strike. As
fellow Christian aviators we cannot
allow diplomacy and denial,
or respect of some highly rated
individual to get in the way. In
the end it will destruct both our
friends and their precious passengers.
God demands both sobriety
and honesty, which often render
us unpopular. Think of your
friend though. Unless you speak
up he will end up naked on a postmortem
slab. We observe the prin-
ciple of joint accountability applied
throughout the Bible. We
are not to stand by idly and lead
or allow anyone to be led astray.
In Genesis 4:9, Cain protests being
accountable as his brother’s
keeper. The Lord resents his protestation
as He indeed holds us
accountable.

Afrikaanse Beursinstituut
wens Sol-Tech studente geluk

Solidariteit Helpende Hand se
Afrikaanse Beursinstituut het die
Sol-Tech-studente wat hulle studies
met die hulp van dié instituut
afgehandel het, met dié mylpaal
gelukgewens.
Die groep van 37 het almal
hulle studies met die finansiële
ondersteuning van die Afrikaanse
Beursinstituut voltooi. Dié studente
is nou gekwalifiseerde
meulmakers, elektrisiëns, passeren-draaiers
en werktuigkundiges.
“Ons is baie trots op hulle en ver-
tel graag oor die mylpaal wat hul-
le bereik het. Studente moet besef
dat hierdie vaardighede wat hulle
nou het, nie almal beskore is nie,”
sê dr Danie Brink, die uitvoe-

(KWO), in Pretoria lives by the
slogan. The desire to make a sustainable
difference to the lives of
needy people that inspires them
to pro-actively address the challenges
of those in their care is the
driving force of this organisation.
KWO currently renders services
to approximately 260 direct
beneficiaries on a daily basis. A
total of approximately 750 men,
women and children benefit on a
monthly basis from the services
they provide.
KWO initially developed out
of the Paul Jungnickel Home for
mentally and physically disabled
adults. Where the Paul Jungnickel
Home rendered services to the disabled,
KWO was found to address
the social needs and problems of
the growing community surrounding
the organisation and to assist
in the sustainable social development
of this community.
They are responsible for a
variety of projects that provide a
practical solution to the challenges
of needy people. These include the
Paul Jungnickel Home for 140
mentally and physically disabled
adults, as well as the Kungwini
Children’s Home for those with

en het sedertdien tot 94 sterk
studiefondse gegroei.

Kungwini Welfare Organisation to
invest in early learning centres, as
well as protective workshops. The
Kungwini Early Learning Centres
provides much needed early childhood
education to children in the
surrounding rural and developing
areas. Kungwini Protective
Workshop, provides an employment
opportunity for adults with
disabilities, who are not fit for the
open labour market. In line with
this, the Nickel Xmas Market, is an
annual job creation event, providing
crafters an opportunity to sell
their handiwork.

Ice kondig nuwe TV-program aan

Onbreekbaar is die nuwe reeks
wat deur eerlike onderhoude
mense inspireer om oor God se
goedheid te getuig. Saam met die
aanbieders Marlie ‘Ice’ van Oudtshoorn
en Alecia Lee Du Toit, word
die kyker op ’n ongelooflike reistog
van God se genade en voorsiening
geneem.
Saam met Onbreekbaar se begin
word daar egter ook totsiens
gesê aan die welbekende gunsteling
Infrarooi. Altwee dié programme
is deur Ice aangebied. Sy
deel graag haar ervaringe tydens
dié twee programme en werp meer
lig oor die rede hoekom sy haarself
nou sal toespits op Onbreekbaar.
Volgens Ice was haar plan om
met ’n tweede program te begin
wat heeltemal anders as Infrarooi
is. “Die terugvoer van mense se
reaksie oor Onbreekbaar was oorweldigend,
en dis toe ek besluit het
om eerder meer my fokus en tyd te
rig op die program. Dit was vir my
’n gevoel van ’n nuwe seisoen. Ek
is baie trots op Infrarooi, maar ek
voel tevrede om aan te stap na die
volgende uitdaging,” sê sy.
Wat Ice altyd oor Infrarooi sal
laat by bly is die verskeidenheid
mense wat sy daar ontmoet het.
“Ek het met so ’n wye verskeidenheid
van mense gesels, van die beste
musikante, bekendes, invloedry-
ke persone, tot aksieleiers en sendelinge.
Dit was lekker om uit te
vind waar hulle roeping in hul le-
we begin het en hoe hulle wandel
met die Here daagliks groei,” sê
Ice.
Sy deel ook haar gunsteling
ervaringe tydens die verfilming
van Infrarooi: “Die program wat
vir my die meeste uitstaan was toe
ons saam met die ‘Bomb Shelter
Biker’s Church’ die witplakkerskamp
in Moloto gaan besoek het.
Die mense wat ek daar ontmoet het
en wat ek alles daar gesien het, het
my diep geraak. Op die ou einde,
is dit die verhale wat in jou hart
praat, jou opinie verander of jou
anders laat kyk na die lewe wat die
merk op jou geheue los.”
Haar fokus is egter nou ten volle
op Onbreekbaar en volgens Ice is
die nuwe program se produksie
en aanbieding uiters bevredigend.
Met betrekking tot Onbreekbaar
se fokus, noem Ice: “Onbreekbaar
is gefokus op bekeringsgetuienisse.
Dit is nie ’n vraag en
antwoord program waarin ek ’n
onderhoud voer nie. Dit is slegs
die een persoon wat sy getuienis
vertel.”
Onbreekbaar word in drie dele
opgedeel. Eerstens vertel ’n persoon
van sy verlede, waar hy was
en wat hy alles gedoen het voordat
hy God gevind het. Die tweede
deel is wat hy dink die oorsaak was
van waarom hy verkeerde besluite
gemaak het, en die laaste deel is hoe
hy God ontdek het en hoe God sy
lewe verander het daarna. “Ek en
Alecia sal dan aan die einde van
die program net ’n kort gedagte
deel saam met ’n skrifgedeelte
wat die getuienis bevestig uit die
Woord,” sê Ice.

New bench for RLR Retirement Centre
Juanita van Wyk
Forever Planks and Poles recently donated a three-seater bench to
the RLR Retirement Centre. It was immediately tested out by residents.
Two officials from the department of Social Development’s local office
in George, who paid a visit to the centre, joined in the fun.

Met my eerste besoek aan hulle,
het ek langs ’n klein meisie se
bed gestaan wie se arms en bene
amper so dik soos my vingers is.
Sy kan niks vir haarself doen nie
en het net na die dak gestaar. Net
voor ek geloop het, het ek aan haar
hand gevat en die meisie het so
breed geglimlag dat jy net tande
sien. Dit het my hart gebreek en
ek het gedink aan Jesus se woor-
de: “Gaan weg, want Ek ken
julle nie. Maar ons het dan in
U Naam duiwels uitgedryf en
dooies opgewek en siekes gesond
gemaak. Toe Ek honger was het
julle nie vir My iets gebring om
te eet nie, en toe Ek siek en in die
gevangenes was, het julle My nie
kom besoek nie.”

God’s purpose for the universe
is known since before the creation
of earth. When His plan with mankind
on earth was disrupted, He
was not taken by surprise and His
purpose and plan still continues
with His original intent.
If not in our religious practices,
where does the solution for us in
South Africa lie? We could not find
it politically. Socially we tried in
vain to solve it through separate
development and we are observing
that integrated development, presently
being experienced, is also
problematic. On all levels we are
trying to reach out to each other
in South Africa but on the religious
level it is said that on a Sunday
morning in our churches, we
witness the largest racial divide of
the week. It is a daunting challenge
to meld a diverse, multi-racial
population with a long history of
racism, into a cohesive unit. It
is therefore understandable that

In the woes that Jesus pronounced
upon the church of the
day, we see Him placing specific
charges against the church.
The first charge is:
“You shut up the kingdom of
heaven against men.” The religious
leaders kept people from
the kingdom of heaven by making
human traditions and human
religious rules more important
than God’s word. We see this today
within the modern day church.
Tradition carries more weight than
what the Word of God requires.
Let’s take some examples from
scripture and put this against the
traditions within churches.

news. People need the Good
News, the Kingdom of God. It is
the lost message of Jesus that we, as
His ambassadors, withdrew from

First look at the use of communion
within churches. Most traditional
churches have communion
only every three to six months.
The question we have to ask is
what does the scripture require
from us?
“Similarly when supper was
ended, He took the cup also, saying,
this cup is the new covenant
[ratified and established] in My
blood. Do this, as often as you
drink [it], to call Me [affectionately]
to remembrance.” 1 Corinthians
11:25 (AMP).
The scripture does not give us
a time frame but it tells us to do it
often, and every time as we partake
to do it in remembrance of
sadors we need to show them the
way to a domain where there is
life, hope, peace, joy, and the
power to rise above daily prob-
lems and difficulties and live successfully
and victoriously right
now by focusing on the Kingdom
of God, which was the heart of the
words of Jesus. We as ambassadors
of the Kingdom have nothing
else but to preach, teach and proclaim
the good news of the Kingdom.
If we are doing what Jesus
commanded us to do, everything
we are about will be Kingdomfocused,
every sermon we preach,
every Bible study we teach, every
ministry we perform, every activity
or job we accomplish, every
speech we deliver and every celebration

tell us that only a pastor or
elder are allowed to serve communion.
So why do we place
these restrictions on our people in
churches?
The table of the Lord is a table
from where we can access grace.
Why would we want to keep believers
from partaking of that
grace that is available at the table
of the Lord? Are we through our
rules and regulations around this
matter not also doing the very
same as the Pharisees by shutting
the Kingdom of Heaven for our
brethren?
I’ll leave you with some statement
to ponder and meditate
of God must be our highest and
only priority. Jesus gave us no other
mission and commission. When
He said “Go and make disciples
of all nations,” (Matt 28:19), He
was commanding us to proclaim
the Kingdom of God to a world
that knew it not. Our fundamental
mission and commission has been
given to us by our Creator as the
‘manual,’ not primarily about a
religion or rituals, but about the
establishment of a kingdom rulership
on planet earth from the heavenly
realm. The Bible is about a
divine project of governing earth
from heaven through mankind – a
royal family mandated to colonise
earth from Heaven. “Let Us make
man in Our image, according to
Our likeness; let them have dominion
over all the earth…” (Gen 1:26)

his salvation not be allowed to
partake of communion? Where
does scripture forbid a child to
partake of communion?
It is also tradition to close your
eyes when you pray. Why do we
tell people to close their eyes
in prayer? I could not find any
scripture mandating this conduct.
Where does scripture demand that
we must be ordained to become a
minister of the Gospel of the Lord
Jesus Christ?
I encourage you to look at
how you practice your religion
and church and see if there is any
foundation of your practices and
scripture. If not, change. I encourage
you to move from tradition
and religious rules to a vibrant
relationship with Jesus.

Christians who work in their
professions in the marketplace
can be assured that they are a valuable
asset to the Lord in expanding
the Kingdom of God, there where
they are. According to David
Robinson of Coaching 4 Ministers,
there is a need for Christians
across the world to realise that one
can serve the Lord through being
‘the salt and the light’ to their colleagues
and associates.
“The Lord uses people like

Today we live in a season where
the power of God is manifested in
a way we have never experienced
before. It almost seems too good
to be true. It is God, not man or
Satan, at work in our lives. God
has seen the affliction of His people
and he responds to our cries
by raising powerful men and women
to lead us out of ‘Egypt’.
When I came to Christ I started
to read the scriptures and saw
how Jesus performed miracles.
How he healed the sick and delivered
them. He performed three
important functions according to
the scriptures: He preached and
taught the word, healed the sick,

says Robinson.
He points out that our call as
Christians are to make disciples
of all nations. Robinson identifies
that if one wants to reach
a nation one needs to address
three pillars of influence, namely
business, government and education.
“The Lord calls us to servant
leadership through focusing on
what Jesus did during His ministry
here on earth. It is interesting
to note that out of the 39 powerful
miracles Jesus performed, 38
miracles were performed in the
marketplace. Only one miracle
took place in a church. That is
why the function of the church is
to mobilise and inspire their congregation
to live transformed lives
that brings the image of Christ into
the marketplace,” says Robinson.
He points out that it is important
for any Christian to understand
his function in the body of Christ
and to realise that we are a kingdom
of priests. He specifically
mentions that Christians should
be aware of and educated in the
gifts of the fivefold ministry in
Ephesians 4:11-12.
Robinson identifies a couple
of key focus areas in expanding
the image of Christ in the marketplace.
“Firstly one must focus on
training future church leaders in
understanding the fivefold ministry
and how it works. Then one
can start tearing down the walls
between laymen and clergy. It is

and delivered those who were oppressed.
According to Isaiah 61:1, the
Sovereign Lord had filled Jesus
with His Spirit. He chose Him
and sent Him to bring the good
news to the poor, to heal the broken
hearted, to announce release
to captives and freedom to those
in prison. This is the key reason
why Jesus came. He became poor
so that we may be rich. He came
to bring healing and deliverance.
Anything to the contrary is not the
will of God, but of Satan.
Satan’s mission is to kill, steal
and destroy. He cannot heal or deliver
anybody, as he has no power
to do it. When God gave Aaron
power to turn his rod into a snake,
important to have great services
where the Holy Spirit moves, but,
during this time congregations
should be prepared for the week
ahead. It is also important to have
a balance between managing what
is happening and actually creating
new avenues through employing
vision. The last point is that one
should not just ordain the fivefold
ministry, but one should commission
them to be effective market
place ministers.”

high God prevailed. The snake
of Aaron swallowed their snakes.
This was a demonstration of real
power versus fake power.
Today some people do not
believe that God can use anything
like water, oil, a handkerchief, a
rod or mud to demonstrate his
power. They see what is happening
and associate it with the devil.
Some of the the instruments that
God used, include oil, handkerchiefs
and aprons, words, spit and
a cloak.
In Mark 6:12-13, God used oil
when Jesus sent out the twelve
disciples to do his work. The
disciples of Jesus, “went out and
preached that people should turn
away from their sins. They drove
out many demons, and rubbed oil
on many sick people and healed
them.”
In Acts 19:11-12, God used
handkerchiefs and aprons. During
the early church, God performed
miracles through the life
of Paul. The Bible says, “God
was performing unusual miracles
through Paul. Even handkerchiefs
and aprons he had used were taken
to those who were ill, and their
diseases were driven away, and the
evil spirits would go out of them.”
In Acts 3:6, God used the words
spoken by Peter to heal a lame
man. “But Peter said to him, I have
no money at all, but I give you
what I have: in the name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth I order you to
get up and walk.” Peter just spoke

Ministries had a dream in which
he was serving communion when
God asked him, “Is this broken
bread not to be shared with every-
one?” As a result of this question,
Robbie booked his ticket to
Pakistan.
In Karachi streets were closed
in order for the people to receive
the good news of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Irfan Dean confirmed that
the prophetic word coming from
Robbie was letter accurate.
A miracle also happened in Lahore.
A crusade was organised for
Robbie who had found a number
of sponsors in South Africa to carry
the unsaved on buses to this
event. This crusade was authorised
by a Muslim government official
who also provided armed guards
for Robbie. This is unheard of.
So many mass healings have
the word and the man was healed.
At one stage God used Peter’s
shadow to heal the sick.
At the lake of Bethsaida, in
Mark 8:23, God used Jesus’ spit
to heal a sick man. In Matt 9:22,
God used a cloak.
There are many instances
where God used things to heal and
deliver his people and God can
still do the same today. He is a
constant. The same yesterday,
today and forever. May His Holy
name be glorified for what He is
doing through His servants in this
season.
But, beware, in Matthew 12:26-
34, Jesus healed a man who was
blind and could not talk because he
had a demon. The Pharisees said
He got this power from Beelzebul.
Jesus knew what they were thinking
and He said to the Pharisees that
never been seen before. Almost
all in the 10,000 strong crowd received
Jesus as their personal saviour.
Testimonies are still rolling
in on tumours, cancer and pains
that instantly disappeared.
One miracle had a profound
impact on everyone. After the crusade,
a Muslim woman was carried
into the eating hall. She screamed
in pain and could not walk. Robbie
took her hands and, through
an interpreter, told her: “Madam, I
set you free, all the pain goes now.
I bring you the life and peace of
Jesus Christ, rise up and walk.”
To the ecstatic amazement of
all and the bewilderment of this
woman, she stood up and was
completely free. This left the
spectators in euphoric worship of
our Father’s love.

is already divided into groups and

blasphemy and that anyone who

Today still, those who are opposing
the current move of God
are guilty of the sin of blasphemy.
There are Pharisees who are giving
the devil credit for the current
move of God in our generation.
They call men and women of God
Satanists.
On whose side are you? Jesus
said, “Anyone who is not for me
is really against me, anyone who
does not help me gather is really
scattering.” Matt 12:30. This is the
Word of the Lord.

The value of gratitude in prayer

“Lord, I want a car. Lord, I want
a new job. Lord, I want a promotion,
and Lord, I want it now!”
Every Tuesday night a mixed
group of adults from our little town
in Limpopo come together for cell
group where we learn about the
Christian way of living. We teach
and guide each other, learn from
our mistakes and also tease each
other. On occasion we give one
another a hard time, but we will
always sacrifice anything for each
other, no matter the cost. At the end
of these evenings we write down
everyone’s prayer requests, and
then pray together.
Not too long ago my sister lost
her job, and in a little town such
as Hoedspruit, finding a new job
is challenging. We wrote it in the
prayer book, prayed and asked,
but more than prayer was needed.

something, from coffee to food to

School celebrated Ascension
day. The message was shared by
teacher Cathleen van Vuuren,
who used a clever illustration
where children must read the
word Christmas from back to
front to explain that Ascension
day is the opposite of Christmas.

Recently at church a woman

of the people in the congregation
cried, and I reflected on how many
times I have just asked and asked,
but now I speak for many to say,
thanks to the Lord for my mother,
all mothers and for families.
Bless those who do not have,
dry their tears and touch the hearts
of those who do have to share, because
there is nothing more amazing,
than to see the expression of
gratitude in the eyes of someone
who has nothing, receive something.
The gratitude that is sometimes
absent in our own lives.
Jesus came to earth on Christmas
but He left earth on Ascension
day. Cathleen emphasised the
fact that He will return again. The
most important message for the
learners was to remember that
whilst all of us are waiting for
Christ’s return, we need to live a
godly life and be obedient towards
His commandment to spread the
Gospel to all the nations on the

We can gradually fall away
from the Lord without being
aware of it. The prodigal son went
through a gradual process of decline.
(Luke 15:11-20)
There are definite warning
signs before we fall into sin.
One of the first could be if
we allow anyone or anything to
take the place in our hearts which
only belongs to God. This is a
clear sign that you have slid back
and need to come back to Jesus
for Him to rekindle the fire in
you again. This turning back
to God could be a first stepping
stone to a much higher life in
Christ.
Complacency can so easily
set in and then one becomes
lukewarm. That is when you will
begin to live ‘a life of a form of
godliness’, outwardly. You will
be religious but your life will be
devoid of power.
In the account of the prodigal
son, he did not justify his
actions, but he humbled himself
and went back to his father
appealing to his mercy.
This is true repentance. His
father saw him from afar and ran
towards him and fell on his neck
and kissed him.
If you have wandered away
from God, come back to the
Father. Our heavenly Father is
longing to cleanse and receive the
sinner if the will just repent and
come to Him in forgiveness.
Forgive anyone who has hurt
you. He can restore you to an
even better spiritual walk with
Him than before.
Victory for Eagle’s Nest at debates
On 3 May, Nooderland High
School hosted the Polokwane debating
league competition.
Ten schools participated, including
Capricorn High School
And Taxila.
Eagle’s Nest had three teams,
compising of two senior teams
and one junior team. Both senior
teams managed to win three out of
four matters. Team A of the senior
category got second place and the
Junior Team won first place in the
Junior Strand.

ervaring beleef. Onlangs
was daar Heilige Gees dienste met
die hoogtepunt van wonderwerke
wat plaasgevind het toe almal deur
die ‘Miracle Pool’ stap. Baie siektes
en veral kankers is hierdie jaar
genees en daar is vele getuienisse.
Dr Johan Venzke het bevestiging
dat hy die opdrag vir ’n ‘Miracle
Pool’ vanaf die Vader gekry het
en in gehoorsaamheid opgetree
het. Groot opgewondenheid heers
aangesien die Heilige Gees so tas-
baar ervaar word, en die bewusmaking
van Sy krag waarmee Hy
ons wil toerus, sodat die wonders
en tekens sal volg (Mark. 16:17).
Die hart by Geanker in Christus
