Baltic Innovation Agency (BIA) is providing innovation, clustering, technology and business development related
services to public, private and third sector organizations. BIA is working with different cluster activities in various
sectors focusing on internationalisation, joint marketing and branding, human capital development and training.
BIA is implementing projects both in traditional industries such as wood, forest, food, chemical, energy and
environment sectors but also in new sectors like biotechnology, nanotechnology and ICT. The main competence
areas for BIA are cluster management, strategic and business planning, technology transfer and commercialization,
market research and analysis, innovation financing and investment readiness.

The Affiliation of Clusters within the Croatian Chamber of Economy currently comprises about 50 members. The
Affiliation pursues the creation of an incentive climate for clusterization; promotion of the exchange of experience
with the aim of avoiding pitfalls and failures; cooperation with both governmental and non-governmental
institutions in forming efficient and transparent models of supporting and subsidizing clusters; facilitation of the
access of Croatian clusters to the European market and incentivizing internationalization of clusters’ businesses;
increase the overall level of entrepreneurial culture by facilitating changes in the climate of mistrust; promotion
and facilitation of the cooperation of clusters in R&D projects.
