DAyS 1-2: loS ANGElES
pick up your car and explore the city. Head to
glamorous Hollywood with its Walk of the Fame,
check out the stars' houses in Beverly Hills and
hit the beach at Santa monica, venice or malibu,
where the pacific Ocean laps at the shore.
DAyS 3-4: loS ANGElES PAlM SPRINGS
wIllIAMS & GRAND CANyoN
Leave the boisterous city of LA and drive to palm
Springs, which stretches in a dry, hot desert
valley. This pretty city, also famous for its golf
courses, is a favourite weekend destination for
wealthy Californians. A gondola ride up mt San
Jacinto offers great views of the area. On Day
Four, you'll be back on the road heading for the
small town of Williams. pass through the indian
reservation of the Hualapai.
DAy 5: wIllIAMS & GRAND CANyoN
lAkE PowEll
Stand awestruck by the overwhelming landscape
of the grand Canyon. You may want to take a
helicopter flight to see more breathtaking details
of the spectacular formation. Lake powell is
another highlight of your trip - the red rocks
provide an impressive contrast to the blue water.
Boat tours, houseboats and water sports provide
a lively atmosphere on the lake.
DAy 6: lAkE PowEll bRyCE CANyoN N.P
The park includes some of the earth's most
colourful rocks, which have been sculpted by
erosion into pillars and other fantastic forms.
A walk at sunset through this fantasy world of
sandstone is particularly rewarding.
DAy 7: bRyCE CANyoN N.P ST GEoRGE
& SPRINGDAlE
Zion N.p offers you many hiking possibilities.
See its desert terrain and huge sculpted rock
formations, which co-exist with hanging gardens.
The bizarre sandstone formations and especially
the view of the 'Angels Landing' are breathtaking.
DAy 8: ST GEoRGE & SPRINGDAlE
lAS VEGAS
Las vegas is a unique world in the middle of the
desert. The high luxury hotels with all their glitter,
famous casinos and spectacular shows create a
world of fantasy. Let yourself be tempted and try
your luck on the roulette wheel.
DAy 9: lAS VEGAS DEATh VAllEy N.P
VISAlIA
The drive through Death valley, the lowest point
of the Western Hemisphere almost 90m below
sea level, is quite an experience. This desert area
offers a great variety of must-see landscapes
like Zabriskie point and Badwater. Continue on
through fertile farmland to visalia.
DAy 10: VISAlIA yoSEMITE N.P
MoDESTo & El PoRTAl
The Yosemite valley is 13km long and contains
a wealth of steep, high granite rocks, like Half
Dome and el Capitan. Spectacular waterfalls,
quiet mountain lakes and picturesque areas make
this beautiful national park a place you will enjoy
visiting and exploring.
DAyS 11-12: MoDESTo & El PoRTAl SAN
FRANCISCo
Take time to explore this beautiful city by cable
car or on foot, walking from Fisherman's Wharf
to Union Square with all the highlights on the
way. Cross over the golden gate Bridge to enjoy
the art galleries of Sausalito and advance to the
muir Woods where you find some of the last giant
redwood trees. Or even spend the day tasting
Californian grown wines in Napa valley.

DAy 13: SAN FRANCISCo SAN SIMEoN
& PISMo bEACh
Historic monterey and lovely Carmel both enjoy a
great location and are worth a visit - monterey's
famous Cannery row with its former canning
factories and typical restaurants, Carmel with
its mission, art galleries, boutiques and good
restaurants. They'll both impress you. Don't miss
the 25km drive along one of the most fabulous
coast lines. Hearst Castle at San Simeon is also
well worth a visit.
DAyS 14-15: SAN SIMEoN & PISMo bEACh
loS ANGElES
Continue via Solvang, a Danish town, to Santa
Barbara, a beautiful city with a strong Hispanic
background. The highlights are well worth a visit
- the mission, Court House and State Street, with
its beautiful boutiques and inviting restaurants.
Continue on back to bustling Los Angeles and
return your car at any time on Day 15.
