in accordance with the provisions of that<br />

Act, notwithstanding that the Council of The<br />

Western Australian Institute of Technology is not<br />

then constituted: Now, therefore, I, the Governor,<br />

acting with the advice and consent of the Executive<br />

Council do hereby fix the date on which this<br />

proclamation is published in the Government<br />

Gaaette as the date on which The Western Australian<br />

Institute of Technology shall be so incorporated.<br />

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of<br />

section three of the Hairdressers Registration Act,<br />

1946-1965, that, subject to subsection (2) of that<br />

section, the Act applies only within twenty-five<br />

miles from the General Post Office at Perth: and<br />

whereas subsection (2) of section three of the said<br />

Act provides that the Governor may from time to<br />

time, on the recommendation of the Minister and<br />

the Board, by proclamation declare that the Act<br />

shall apply, as from the date specified in the proclamation,<br />

to such other area or areas of the <strong>State</strong><br />

as is or are so specified; and whereas the Minister

and the Hairdressers Registration Board of Western<br />

Australia have recommended that the Act<br />

apply to the area of the <strong>State</strong> that is within five<br />

miles of the Post Office at Kalgoorlie: now, therefore,<br />

I, the Governor, acting with the advice and<br />

consent of the Executive Council and in exercise of<br />

the powers aforesaid, do hereby declare that the<br />

provisions of the Hairdressers Registration Act,<br />

1946-1965, shall apply on and from the date on<br />

which this proclamation is published in the Government<br />

Gazette, to the area of the <strong>State</strong> that is<br />

within five miles of the Post Office at Kalgoorlie.<br />

Executive Council Chamber, at Perth, on the 22nd<br />

day of June, 1967, the following Order in Council<br />

was authorised to be issued:<br />

Workers' Compensation Act, 1912-1966.<br />

ORDER <strong>IN</strong> COUNCIL.<br />

WHEREAS it is enacted, inter alia, by section 13<br />

of the Workers' Compensation Act, 1912-1966, that<br />

it shall be obligatory for every employer to obtain<br />

from an incorporated insurance office approved by<br />

the Minister a policy of insurance for the full<br />

amount of the liability to pay compensation under<br />

the Act to all workers employed by him, but that<br />

if an employer proves to the satisfaction of the<br />

Minister that such employer has established a fund<br />

for insurance against such liability and has deposited<br />

at the Treasury securities charged with all<br />

payments to become due under such liability, the<br />

Governor may, by Order in Council, exempt such<br />

employer from the operation of that section; and<br />

whereas Western Aluminium No Liability, a company<br />

incorporated in the <strong>State</strong> of Victoria having<br />

its registered office in the <strong>State</strong> of Western Australia<br />

at Hope Valley Road, Kwinana, being an<br />

employer within the meaning of the section has,<br />

duly, in accordance with the Act and the regulations<br />

made thereunder, made application for<br />

exemption from the operation of the section, and<br />

has satisfied the Minister that it has established<br />

a fund for insurance against the said liability, and<br />

has in conjunction with Alcoa of Australia Proprietary<br />

Limited deposited at the Treasury a<br />

security, to wit, a bond for $25,000 charged with all<br />

payments to become due under the said liability:<br />

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, acting<br />

with the advice and consent of the Executive<br />

Council and in exercise of the powers conferred by<br />

the Act, doth hereby exempt Western Aluminium<br />

No Liability from the operation of section 13 of<br />

office experience.<br />

(k) Plus district allowance—$450 p.a. married man, $225 p.a. single man. Annual uniform issued.<br />

(1) Certificate—Master, Foreign Going. Applicant younger than 45 years preferred.<br />

(m) Headquarters Derby. Furnished residence available at moderate rental.<br />

(n) A Certificate in Applied Science of Technical Education Division or substantial progress towards this qualification.<br />

Knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Photography, Microscopy and simple Electronic work essential. Esperience in the use<br />

of hand and power tools desirable.<br />

(o) Plus district, travelling and other allowances.<br />

(p) A pass in Surveying I at the Perth Technical College or its equivalent, and some experience in the construction industry<br />

and in irrigation and drainage operations and maintenance an advantage.<br />

(q) Registration Certificate of the Library Association of Australia or an approved equivalent. Some training in library<br />

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that the areas scheduled hereunder are available for selection under Part V<br />
