WHEREAS by Section 42 of "The Land Act, 1898,"
it is made lawful for the Administrator to direct that
any Reserve shall vest in and be held by any Muni-

named in the order, in trust for any of the purposes set
forth in Section 39 of the said Act, or for the like or
other public purposes to be specified in such order: And
whereas it is deemed expedient that Reserve No. 18075
(Fremantle Lots 94 to 109 inclusive) should vest in and
be held by the Melville Road Board, in trust :for the
purpose of "Quarry": Now, therefore, His Excellency
the Administrator, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby direct that the
before-mentioned Reserve shall vest in and be held by
the Melville Road Board, in trust for the purpose aforesaid;
subject, nevertheless, to the powers reserved to
him by Section 41. of the said Act.

it is made lawful for the Administrator to direct that
any Reserve shall vest in and be held by any Municipality,
Road Board, or other person or persons to be
named in the order, in trust for any of the purposes set
forth in Section 39 of the said Act, or for the like Or
other public purposes to be specified in such order: And
whereas it is deemed expedient that Reserve No. 16943,
at Kweda, should vest in and be held by Messrs. Wm.
George Dhu, Alfred Beard, Wm. James Barlow, Gilbert
Frederick Wilson, Joseph Henry Corry, Matthew Dunne,
and_ George Hathaway, in trust for the purpose of a
Hall Site and Recreation Ground: Now, therefore, His
Excellency the Administrator, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby direct
that the before-mentioned Reserve shall vest in and be
held by Messrs. Wm. George Dhu, Alfred Beard, William

The Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage, and
Drainage Act, 1909.
ORDER, IN COUNCIL.
M.W.S. 745/22.
WHEREAS by "The Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage,
and Drainage Act, 1909," it is provided that,
subject to the provisions of the Act, the Minister of
Water Supply, Sewerage, and Drainage shall, with the
approval of the Governor, have power to construct and
extend Water Works, Sewerage Works, and Stormwater
Drainage Worl:s; and whereas it is further provided
that the Governor may exempt reticulation works from
certain sections of this Act: Now, therefore, His Excellency
the Governor, with the advice of the Executive
Council, hereby approves of the construction by the
Minister of Water Supply, Sewerage, and Drainage of
the following works under the said Act, and does hereby
exempt such works from the operations of Sections 20,
21, 22, and 23 of the said Act:

Act, 1878," to extend the limits of the jurisdiction of
the Cossack Boat Licensing Board to include those
waters within a line from Sloping Point (West end of
Nichol Bay) to the East end of Forrestier Islands; also
to
(1) cancel the appointment of Archibald Campbell,
Hay Marshall, and John Page as members of
the Balla Balla Boat Licensing Board; and
(2) abolish the said Balla Balla Boat Licensing
Board and the limits specified within which
such Board has jurisdiction.

Perth, Midland .Junction, and Moora. Local Courts; and
further to appoint the said George Tuthill Wood as a
Police Magistrate for the State of Western Australia;
and also as Chairman and Member of the Swan, Moore,
and Guildford Licensing Courts under the Licensing
Act, 1911.

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that the
areas scheduled hereunder will be available for selection
under "The Land Act, 1898," and its amendments, on
and after the dates set out in the schedules.
The areas marked " A" shall be open for selection
by the special classes of selectors hereinafter named in
the following order of preference:
(1) Under "The Discharged Soldiers' Settlement
Act, 1918," by "Discharged Soldiers" within
the meaning of paragraphs (a), (b), and (c)
of the interpretation of the term in Section 3
of that Act, and "Dependants" within the
meaning of that term in the said section.
(2) Under "The Land Act, 1898," by ex-British
Soldiers who were on active service in the late
war.
(3) Under "The Land Act,

and if there are more applicants than one for any
block the application to lie granted will be determined
by the Land Board, except in cases where it is already
d.etermined by the order of preference set out above
under "A." Should any lands remain unselected sunl
will continue available until applied for or otherwise
dealt with.
If a Land Board sitting becomes necessary, the applicants
for the blocks will be duly notified of the date,
time, and place of the meeting of the Board, and there
shall be at' interval of at least three days between the
closing date and the sitting of the Board.
If an applicant wishes to appear before the Land
Board in person he may :1 to the head Office or to
the Clerk in Charge of any of the District or Branch
Land Offices for a certificate to the Railway Department
which, on presentation M. the nearest Railway Station,
will entitle him to a Return '1'i:diet, at Excursion ,lIates,
to the place where the Board will sit, available for seven
(lays from the date of issue.
The selector of a Homestead Farm tram location
available under Part VTII, must take the balance thereof,
if any, under Conditional Purchase.
The prices quoted hereunder (exclusive of the value
of improvements, if any, and survey fees, and land
acquired by the Crown under "The Agricultural Lands
Purchase Act, 1909," or otherwise for settlement) are
reduced by one-half to Discharged Soldiers only.

In the Local Court at Midland Junction.
In the matter of " The Road Districts Act, 1919," and in the matter of an application by the Road Board for possession [or
sale] of land for unpaid rates.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition has been presented to the Local Court at Midland Junction by the Bassendean Road Board
praying that an order for possession of the lands described in the schedule to the petition may be made in favour of the said Board
[or that the lands described in the schedule to the petition may be ordered to be sold] for non-payment of rates.
A copy of the said schedule is hereunto attached. And notice is further given that Tuesday, the 12th day of December, 1922, at
10.30 o'clock in the forenoon has been appointed as the time when the Magistrate will inquire at the said Court concerning the various
matters mentioned in the said schedule and also whether all notices required by law to be given have been given.
Attention is directed to the following provision of the said Act :
Role 7, Third Schedule.- -Any person who is an owner or ratepayer of any land proposed to be sold or taken possession of,
or who is interested in the same as mortgagee or otherwise may, on filing an affidavit proving his title to attend under this
rule (of the filing of which affidavit the, Clerk shall give the Board notice), attend on the making of the inquiries ; but if the
Magistrate shall he of opinion that there was no substantial reason for his attendance, the Magistrate may order him to pay
the costs occasioned thereby.

HIS Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor and Administrator
in Executive Council -has been pleased to approve
of the further amendment of Regulation 29 of the Regulations
under "The Abattoirs Act, 1909," applicable
to the Goldfields Government Abattoirs, published in
the Government Gazette on the 19th day of January,
1915, (as altered by the amendment published hi the
Government Gazette on the 14th day of January, 1921,
by substituting for the words and figures "cattle per
Bead 4s. 64." the words and figures "cattle per head
5s. Md.," and by substituting for the words and figures
"sheep (including goats) per head ls. 15." the words
and figures "sheep (including goats) ls. 2d."
Such amendment to come into operation and be in
force on and after the 16th day of October, 1922.

rate of 27s. 5d: per ton. Charges to be prepaid. The
special rate includes sea freight, :Preuumtle to Hopetoun,
wharfage and handling at Hopetoun, railage and sheetage
Hopetoun to Raveusthorpe, but not handling at the
latter station. Agency fees at 'Hopetoun not to be enforced.
Wheat, Rawensthorpc to Fremantle.A through bill of
lading will be issued by the District Station-master,
Hopetoun. Consignments will be railed to Hopetoun,
thence by ship to Fremantle, at the throughout Tate of
29s. per ton. Charges may be prepaid or made to pay.
The special rate includes railag,2 IRavensthorpe to Hopetoun,
wharf haulage and handling at Hopetoun, sea,
freight Hopetoun to Fremantle. Agency fees at Hopetoun
not to be enforced. In the event of sheets being ordered
and used to cover consignments between Ravensthorpe
and Hopetoun, charges as per page 16 of Goods Rates
Book to be levied in addition. The special rate does

Consignment notes are to be regarded as bills of
lading. Rail receipts are to be issued by the District

voted "No." The resolution was therefore carried by
a majority of 257.

NOTICE is hereby given that all creditors and other
persons having claims or demands upon or against the
estate of John Cowan, formerly of Subiaco but late of
Old Men's Home, in the State of Western Australia,
Carpenter, deceased, are requested to send in particulars
in writing of their claims and demands to Messrs.

Solicitors for Albert. CollingliDurne Rust, the executor
of the will of the above-named deceased, on or before
the thirtieth day of October, 1922; and further take
notice that at the expiration of the last mentioned date
the executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the
said deceased amongst the persons entitled thereto, having
regard only to those claims and demands of which
he shall then have had notice.

subsisting between George Hodgson, Robert Torrens
Browne, and John Windsor Cranston, carrying on business

'Government Gazette" is as follows:-30s. per
annum, 17s. 6d. per half year, and 10s. per quarter,
including postage. Single copies 9d.; previous
years, up to ten years is. 6d., over ten years 2s. 6d.;
postage ld. extra.
Subscriptions are required to commence and terminate
with a month.
Advertisements: Notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before Ten o 'clock
on the day preceding the day of publication, and are
charged at the following rates:
For the first eight lines, 5s.;
For every additional line, 5d.
and half-price for each subsequent insertion.
To estimate the cost of an advertisement, count nine
words to a line; heading, signature, and date being
reckoned as separate lines.
