WHEREAS by Section 42 of "The Land Act, 1898,"<br />

it is made lawful for the Administrator to direct that<br />

any Reserve shall vest in and be held by any Muni-<br />

cipality, Road Board, or other person or persons to be<br />

named in the order, in trust for any of the purposes set<br />

forth in Section 39 of the said Act, or for the like or<br />

other public purposes to be specified in such order: And<br />

whereas it is deemed expedient that Reserve No. 18075<br />

(Fremantle Lots 94 to 109 inclusive) should vest in and<br />

be held by the Melville Road Board, in trust :for the<br />

purpose of "Quarry": Now, therefore, His Excellency<br />

the Administrator, by and with the advice and consent<br />

of the Executive Council, doth hereby direct that the<br />

before-mentioned Reserve shall vest in and be held by<br />

the Melville Road Board, in trust for the purpose aforesaid;<br />

The Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage, and<br />

Drainage Act, 1909.<br />

ORDER, IN COUNCIL.<br />

M.W.S. 745/22.<br />

WHEREAS by "The Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage,<br />

and Drainage Act, 1909," it is provided that,<br />

subject to the provisions of the Act, the Minister of<br />

Water Supply, Sewerage, and Drainage shall, with the<br />

approval of the Governor, have power to construct and<br />

extend Water Works, Sewerage Works, and Stormwater<br />

Drainage Worl:s; and whereas it is further provided<br />

that the Governor may exempt reticulation works from<br />

certain sections of this Act: Now, therefore, His Excellency<br />

the Governor, with the advice of the Executive<br />

Council, hereby approves of the construction by the<br />

Minister of Water Supply, Sewerage, and Drainage of<br />

the following works under the said Act, and does hereby<br />

exempt such works from the operations of Sections 20,<br />

21, 22, and 23 of the said Act:<br />

Nichol Bay) to the East end of Forrestier Islands; also<br />

to<br />

(1) cancel the appointment of Archibald Campbell,<br />

Hay Marshall, and John Page as members of<br />

the Balla Balla Boat Licensing Board; and<br />

(2) abolish the said Balla Balla Boat Licensing<br />

Board and the limits specified within which<br />

such Board has jurisdiction.<br />

NOTICE on PRESENTATION OF PETITION FOR POSSESSION (OR SALE) OF LAND FOR NON-PAYMENT OF RATES.<br />

In the Local Court at Midland Junction.<br />

In the matter of " The Road Districts Act, 1919," and in the matter of an application by the Road Board for possession [or<br />

sale] of land for unpaid rates.<br />

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition has been presented to the Local Court at Midland Junction by the Bassendean Road Board<br />

praying that an order for possession of the lands described in the schedule to the petition may be made in favour of the said Board<br />

[or that the lands described in the schedule to the petition may be ordered to be sold] for non-payment of rates.<br />

A copy of the said schedule is hereunto attached. And notice is further given that Tuesday, the 12th day of December, 1922, at<br />

10.30 o'clock in the forenoon has been appointed as the time when the Magistrate will inquire at the said Court concerning the various<br />

matters mentioned in the said schedule and also whether all notices required by law to be given have been given.<br />

Attention is directed to the following provision of the said Act :<br />

Role 7, Third Schedule.- -Any person who is an owner or ratepayer of any land proposed to be sold or taken possession of,<br />

or who is interested in the same as mortgagee or otherwise may, on filing an affidavit proving his title to attend under this<br />

rule (of the filing of which affidavit the, Clerk shall give the Board notice), attend on the making of the inquiries ; but if the<br />

Magistrate shall he of opinion that there was no substantial reason for his attendance, the Magistrate may order him to pay<br />

the costs occasioned thereby.<br />

in Executive Council -has been pleased to approve<br />

of the further amendment of Regulation 29 of the Regulations<br />

under "The Abattoirs Act, 1909," applicable<br />

to the Goldfields Government Abattoirs, published in<br />

the Government Gazette on the 19th day of January,<br />

1915, (as altered by the amendment published hi the<br />

Government Gazette on the 14th day of January, 1921,<br />

by substituting for the words and figures "cattle per<br />

is possible for me to confer on the Chief Inspector, and<br />

so that as far as possible there shall be nothing which I,<br />

or the Minister for the time being charged with the administration<br />
