A Message from the President
The P-H-M Education Foundation exists to support
excellence in education. The words of our
mission statement are simple and accurately describe
what we do. As you look through this annual
report, you will note many different ways this
mission is being carried out, and many students
and educators who have been encouraged and enriched
by opportunities provided through PHMEF.
If you have contributed to our organization, through giving your time
or resources, we thank you, and hope you share in celebrating our accomplishments.
If you are just learning about this organization, we encourage
you to carefully consider the importance of our mission and
to contact us to learn more about ways you can become involved. We
share in the pride of our excellent schools and are honored to partner
with the administration, staff, businesses, families and community at
large to enrich our students’ educational experiences.
PHMEF serves all of the students and teachers in our district. Last year
alone, we disbursed over $83,000 in funds, and we have disbursed over
$460,000 since our inception in 1996. We take a big-picture, long-term
view of the needs of our students and support varied opportunities
and resources for them. Our grants encourage teachers to dream
a little as they consider creative ways to help our students maximize
their potential.
Fulfilling this important mission is only possible because of the generosity
of our donors, both individual and corporate. We are fortunate
to have the support of a group of corporations, known as Corporations
for Education, whose financial contributions and direct involvement
are making a significant impact in our schools. Others contribute to
our success through their sponsorship and leadership of the Silver Mile
Health and Fitness Fair and the Superintendent’s Luncheon. Grateful
Penn students assist with our Annual Drive, and many families contribute
to PHMEF through the Thank-A-Teacher program each fall and
spring.
We have another exciting year ahead of us, and our P-H-M students
need us more than ever. In these challenging economic times, our
schools need the support of PHMEF to enhance the quality education
P-H-M offers. It is a privilege to build upon the strengths of our district
to maximize the educational experiences of our students. We greatly
appreciate your interest and support and welcome your involvement in
our organization.
