2011 Superintendent’s Luncheon
The second annual Superintendent’s Luncheon was held
on October 11 at Windsor Park in Mishawaka. The luncheon
continues a PHMEF tradition, which grew from a breakfast
event, of having P-H-M Superintendent Dr. Jerry Thacker
give the State of the School Corporation address. The 2011
Superintendent’s Luncheon was presented by Teacher’s Credit Union.
Dr. Thacker shared the accomplishments of the previous school year
and his vision for the 2011-12 school year. He listed his major goals as

1) safe schools 2) advance academic achievement 3) sustain a high level
of parent and community involvement 4) provide focused professional
development 5) value and celebrate diversity and 6) provide exemplary
customer service and positive public relations. In facing the challenge of
increased competition with school vouchers, charter and private schools,
P-H-M welcomed 440 students through the non-resident enrollment program.
Combatting a flat line funding for 2011, Dr. Thacker noted P-H-M
focused on three main areas to generate revenue: non-resident enrollment,
energy conservation and increased vocational education funding.
