going to university TAFE/VET pathways - Flinders University

During high school, I enrolled in subjects
which I found enjoyable, and wasn’t mindful
of whether these subjects would allow
me to enrol in university. After I completed
high school, I felt the best way to further
my education was to enrol in a TAFE course,
so I completed a Diploma of Information
Technology at Adelaide TAFE.
I enjoyed the TAFE course, but I still wanted to
further my education, knowledge and career
prospects, so I decided to enrol in university.
I found that the degree of Information
Technology at Flinders University not only
offered topics similar to TAFE, but also gave me
credit for previous topics I had completed at
TAFE. This allowed me to bypass several topics
within the course which had been covered by my
TAFE course. This made my overall experience of
university more enjoyable as it gave me more
time to spend on the topics I was enrolled in, and
also allowed me to enrol in other topics which
interested me. In addition to this, I was able to
complete my degree earlier than others who
hadn’t received credit for topics. I wouldn’t have
been able to do this if I hadn’t received credit for
my topics completed at TAFE.
