The purpose <strong>of</strong> Wivettes is to provide an opportunity<br />
for the wives <strong>of</strong> college students to become<br />
familiar with and be a part <strong>of</strong> the campus<br />
community, make new acquaintances and share<br />
common interests through various activities. Programs<br />
are presented at the monthly meetings on<br />
such topics as family credit management and opportunities<br />
available to student wives and families.<br />
A service project consisted <strong>of</strong> making Christmas<br />
center pieces for the La Crosse County Hospital<br />
in West Sale. Fund raising projects included<br />
a bake sale using their talents as homemakers,<br />
and a Spring Style Show.<br />
Social opportunities are <strong>of</strong>fered through the<br />
Wivettes Bowling League which meets twice a<br />
month in the Student Union and husband-wife<br />
gatherings such as the Couples Bowling League,<br />
the Progressive Dinner Christmas Party and the<br />
banquet at the close <strong>of</strong> the year.<br />
