First mentioned in the 13th century, the pretty town of Neuenbürg
an der Enz is set on the River Enz and has a photogenic
Marktplatz (main square), as well as a castle that overlooks the
town. As the gateway to the northern Black Forest, Neuenbürg
makes an ideal base for trips into this famous area, with its renowned
spas, health resorts, and trout farms. Also nearby is the
Frischglück, an iron ore mine, where you can go underground to
see the centuries-old workings.
