The short test passage: “I’m caught in the crisis, still. - I admit I’m in love
with the crisis” seemed to us in this context to be an acceptable dose of
concrete text and was the inspiration for the title “Of the legacy we wanted
to renounce with our bare fists”, which in turn was a play on a line by
F. J. Degenhardt. Humourless, purist, sticking to the result of the accidental
interplay of improvised piano, improvised voice and machines
playing to themselves, we refused to make any further intervention in the
recording. No supplementary effects, no shifting of the tracks. We made
a final mix, and that was it.
