inst rumental abilities, their imagination
and technical skills. The undertaking
promotes folk music in
Estonian music culture, providing
links between the old and the new.
The festival focuses on the earlier
cultural world-view of the Baltic Sea
nations and the ancient Nordic
countries. The 2012 festival is the
11th. This time the topic is TALES –
not only the sagas and myths, but
also reflections in dance, song,
crafts and music. The ancient truth
and traditions in the tales are
brought to the present day through
an original rendition, which has been
passed from generation to generation.
Furthermore, the performers
are given an opportunity to create
new songs and music in the old tradition.
