Talismans & eivocations of the Golden Dawn
levels. The two parts relate to the individual's outer and inner
sphere. The breakdown of the five parts of the divine name are as
follows:
YOD (fire) 1. Evocation ritual (of spirits and elements etc.)
HEH (water) 2. Talisman rituals plus the production of natural
phenomena, as storms and earthquakes."
SHIN (spirit) 3. Spiritual development ritual.
4. Transformation ritual.
5. Invisibility ritual.
VAU (air) 6. Divination ritual.
HEH (earth) 7. Alchemy ritual.
Mathers took this formula of seven rituals from the first seven
verses of Genesis. The Hebrew word 'BRAShITh', the first word
of the Bible, was used by Mathers" to categorise the 'Formula of
the Enterer' - The Particular Exordium.

Resh: Then came the gods thereof,
The aeons of the bornless beyond.
Aleph: Then was the voice vibrated.
Shin: Then was the name declared.
Tau : 66 At the threshold of the entrance,
betwixt the universe and infinite.
Yod. In the Sign of the Enterer stood Thoth,
As before him the aeons were proclaimed.
64 I have never seen a breakdown for causing storms etc. and can only presume
that it relates to a talisman that can cause this effect.
65 Refer to Notes on Genesis by Alan Bennett (Equinox II). I came across some
Whare Ra documents, copied from the Golden Dawn, that gave the key breakdown
of the word 'BRAShITh' and applied it to the 'Formula of the Enterer'. I thought
that Bennett was responsible for this work and found that the basis for it was a
paper circulated among Golden Dawn members. The original Golden Dawn
document (possibly by Mathers) consisted only of page 181 (in The Equinox) and
Bennett did the rest.
This reversing of the Tau before the Yod was also in the Golden Dawn copy.
